Non-flattened airports

A big wish, but one that may or may not see the light of day.

Many of the fields are at differing elevations and it would be great to have the ability to model the field to correspond with the terrain. Default files from Microsoft can be as is, but I would like the ability to make Lihue - PHLI slope so that I don't have a major drop from the end of runway 35 to the lighthouse that's sitting south of it. I would like to be able to model the terrain at Princeville so that the adjacent road in Ultimate Terrain X wouldn't require a Hummer to traverse it.

Let the AI gurus figure out how to adapt to the differing elevations!

There is definitely interest within ACES to have sloped airports. We tried to make it happen for FSX but, unfortunately, key devs for several of the affected systems were overbooked and this feature died in triage.

Several of us are plotting another go at it, and hopefully the needs of Microsoft ESP ( http://www.microsoft.com/esp/ ) will weigh in on our side .

need to change slope of new runway to match terrain FS9 - Any ideas?

I have built a BGL file that is true to the data of the actual field, but when I play it in FS9 the runway is at ground level on the SW end and about six feet in the air on the NE end.

Is it possible to get the runway to match the slope of the existing FS9 terrain, and if so, how do I do it?

The scene is designed for Durong, Queensland, Australia.

Hope you can help me.

Carberg

This section of the forums is not a support area, but one for "dialog". You would be better served in the Terrain sub-forum, where the answer will be "No, unless it's modeled, a runway is always flat".

Ok. Thanks for the heads up on that.
