Help needed on creating land/excluding water

Hi, I've been looking around the forums for a while now to find out how to create land and/or exclude water, I have yet to solve this. It seems I've tried every combination of exclusion/terrain modification tools, yet I still keep getting one of the two examples in the attachments. Basically what I need is a step-by-step tutorial.

If it's any help this is Sky Harbor airport in Duluth, Minnesota on Lake Superior. Thanks to anyone that can help.

Land/water boundaries are defined by hydro-polygons which are active over a QMid11 rectangle. So if you delete part of a hydro poly you delete it from the whole area.

Unfortunately, ADE does not show QMid boundaries so you will find it extremely difficult to define a replacement. You could try running ADE connected to FSX and slew around the missing missing piece of coastline adding polygon vertices.

I am not sure whether it is possible in ADE to create an island contained wholly within a QMid11 rectangle.

This is the default hydro-poly for Duluth

I would suggest that you try SBuilderX to create vector polygons.

This is Duluth seen in SBuilderX

I don't know exactly what the issue is, but I use FsxKml for redesign coastline, first of all take out the water, with a " exclude Hydropolygon", and then add a "Hydropolygon generic ocean perennial" whit the shape of the coastline, that's all, sometimes you must make a large polygon for replace the water, much more greater that the exclude water. are the little things I've made with FsxKml, it's a little tricky software.hoping this help.
