use extisting autogen UTX, FSX with new photoscenery

Hello!

I have created a photoscenery from images but loaded into fsx, all autogen disappears also the interessting from UTX (power, houses, trees). Is it possible to place the photoscenery bgl so that the autogen is still used. I do not want to make new autogen because it is a lot of work or I slowly want to make it for important regions?

When I copy autogen from one autogen software window the other one with the photoscenery bgl open, it will be pasted, but with the wrong scale ( And I can not select all and scale it, only move it in autogen tool

thanks for help

Hi,

If you have two photo sceneries it should be possible to copy the AGN files over to the texture folder and have the autogen display.

If one is a photo scenery and the other landclass scenery it will not work however, in that case you need to make new autogen for the photo scenery.

Hello!

But why are there no agn files with autogen on landclass scenery? is autogen on landclass scenery (e.g. I make an area that has a forrest texture) automatically created?
What about objects that are with UTX or GEX? UTX has only streets, water and new land/waterclass for the land/waterclass scenery in fsx.

Is it possible to take the water bgl file from UTX Europe (that has the watermask of all water) and set in on highest hierarchy, so that on photoscenery the water reflections are shown on a photoscenery with water_images or is here the resample process with watermask important?
Is it possible to get the waterways from bgl to GIS?

thank you
Michael

Hi,

Landclass scenery has autogen associated to the specific landclass textures, but that will not work on a photo scenery that does not use those textures. It is referenced to the texture, not the photo.

The photo scenery has priority over the landclass scenery, so the idea for the watermask will not work I am afraid. You will have to put that information in the photo BGL.

Oh no that is not a good answer, I hoped that there is a solution Is it possible to import GIS Data into Autogen Tool or is there a software that tells autogen tool about my gis data with areas that get forrest information or urban. THe first thing on my photo scen is to put forrest on it. I have the land use plan so I have everything in polygons...
greetings

Hello!

Don't you think there is a trick that all trees and houses from UTX Europe for instance (the trees placement is really nice) are visible over the photoscenery? FSX can handle it that the texture generator that is used for UTX (so every place looks the same with same textures) and you place the photo above and the 3D objects are placed over it?

There must be something, I can not imagine that it is not possible...

greetings

Hi,

Photo scenery will remove all autogen from landclass based scenery. There is nothing you can do about it. You would have to create new autogen files for the area covered by the photo scenery.

So if you have GIS data of the forests, trees, houses you might have a head start, else it will be a lot of manual work.

I am not aware of public tools at the moment that create autogen from GIS vector data. I am experimenting with that myself at the moment and I think other developers might have some internal tools for that as well.
