Ground poly in the P3DV2

Well,As we know, use the SCASM tweaking to create different layers of the ground (made runway marks, taxi way marks, dust on the ground etc.) is use the old code.

I test the ground create by these ways in the P3DV2, but the ground is all white. Ir's obviously that the P3DV2 cannot support this kinds of ways.

But the FlyTampa's scenery is do works under P3DV2.

How do they achieved these? Is anyone here knows?

Thanks,

Hi,

The common FS2002 style technique still seems to work fine in P3D v2. I don't see problems with sceneries that use it.

Could it be you have missing textures in your scenery?

Alternatively the new ZBias property in the P3D v2 MDL files might make the old techniques obsolete, but I haven't tested yet how well it works.

As far as we know the Custom Ground Poly function in ADE works with P3Dv2 and that uses old style Bgl files.

Speaking of ground polys, not sure if this would be related or not. Just tried Flightbeam KPHX in v2 and the aircraft ground shadows are not showing on the taxiways but do show on the runways and on the centerlines of the taxiways.

Trying first to get a confirmation that others are seeing this.

Yes. I have tried only a few of my own sceneries in P3D V2 so far. All ground polies are made in FS2002 style. Most don't show the shadow, but some do. I don't have any idea why, as they are all the same way made and have the same amount of layers..

Hi,

There are a few threads about this problem already. It seems some layers don't show shadows, while others do. But we don't understand the full logic yet.
