• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

As the title says how does one make wing flex in Blender when flaps etc are already animated ?

Thanks in advance.

Armature animations in the wing, parent the wind, flaps, slats, ailerons, spoilers, etc. to the armature and tag the armature either with l/r_wing_flex (default) or your own animation tag.

go in to pose mode, select your armatures and assign the tag as you'd do with any other object

I am going to bump my own thread here.
After trying for two years I still to this day can't get Wing-flex to work for me.
I tried everything but eh it isn't working.
Does anyone know of a good tutorial for Blender where they show an example with an airliner?

Had precisely the same problem.
The only way I could get wing control surfaces to animate was by setting up a dummy set of animations
that followed exactly the animated armature, but completely separate from it, then set the animated ailerons and flaps as children of the dummies.
Does that make any sense?
I'll not be in a hurry to do it again!
Don't forget to highlight the armatures when compiling.

It's a lot of work :p
I might do it the old fashioned way by cutting the wing in pieces and animate each piece
