i tried that grass method but never looked good, any tips the tutorial is not that clear, do you use gmax? i use sketchup, i think its my alpha pattern that is no good.

I use Blender, I find the render very well
With this method, yes maybe you have a problem
Do not put too much noise on your texture.
It takes a minimum of space between the grains of the noise

I followed exactly the same procedure
For the settings I am transparent by default,
Without shadow ....
You can ask your questions to professionals
this tutorial does not work for me as i dont use GMAX and i have to make the textures up in photoshop, i think the gmax adds it own noise.
