Roland, thanks for your constant help, it's really appreciated! However, the CAD image you linked is that of an undercarriage from the AMX (a different Aermacchi plane). It was used as a gap filler on the first 2 prototypes of the M346 and later on replaced by a lighter and more streamlined system. The RC examples instead are just a simpler solution and do not use a drag brace, nor have a locking mechanism, which are my main source of concern.
As far as the Yak-130 goes, I've yet to find something common to both planes apart from a very general aerodynamic solution. They're, in fact, two totally different planes even if they share part of their heritage.
There's a widespread belief now that the T346 is running for T-X competition as T100 that the plane is a western copy of a Russian design. The truth is that the design on which the 346 is based, the original Yak-130, was an underpowered and generally underwhelming platform who needed serious attention and money that nor the Russian Gvt or Yakovlev could provide and provided. Aermacchi redid the aerodynamic configuration and developed the prototypes in house bringing it to the standard we see today, compensated Yakovlev for the original technical drawings and stepped away from what had become a one way consortium.
Just for a laugh and to bring some scale...when in western countries the use of CAD was already widespread, especially in aerospace, many a design bureau in Russia used Paint. Yes, Paint!!
JT: By the time I finish it, there will be 64 cores and video cards with 1Tb of vram!
