• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Default CRJ-700 VC rework

Any news of this interesting project ?

Hello,

Currently there is not too much to show as the work is almost entirely coding.

Just today I searched the web and found a manual which explains the exact function of the windshield wipers.
I currently work on a code to simulate that. The switches are kind of done so far while the wipers' reaction is still a placeholder.

Thanks for your answer and good luck for the future.
I will wait yours posts on this wonderful project ;)

Now also the wipers respond realistically.
The windshield visibility codes that were broken by the upgrade are now also fixed, so the wiper work is now done.

One last thing I definitely like to do is fiddling a bit with some PFD's display issues.
After that, if nothing else comes to my mind, the VC is pretty much ready to be prepared for release.

Regarding compatibility this requires at least FSXA. I discovered some serious bugs when I tried it while not having the Acceleration pack reinstalled.

Some visual updates:

The red speed limit bars are somewhat longer now and run all over the speed tape, not just towards the pointer. Furthermore the positions of all speed related moving symbols (limit bars, speed tape, AP speed bug) have been tweaked to be more accurate.

The NAV 1 needle in both PFD and MFDs now automatically uses the GPS track instead of selected CRS when nav source is set to GPS.

Unless something urgent is still found this will shortly be ready for release :)

Have a nice evening.

I still have the POSKY model and FDE merge around somewhere. Do you want it to produce a ready-for-use package?

Just to clarify:
This was planned and made as a VC package to be included in existing aricraft.
This will persist.
I'm not going to mess it back up at this point.

The messed up left engine starter is finally fixed. It required crafting missing image files from the background and other buttons.

As far as I can see now this is as finished as I wanted for now.
Next is some tweaking to the already existing documentation files and it will be ready to go. :)

I have merged your files with the Project Open Sky crj700 model. Working nicely so far. More flights needed. What FMC would be a good fit?

Maybe you can help, every time I import the model into MCX, I can usually get maybe one or two aircraft.cfg edits and all the parts come off the model. So reload
and go again. Taking too much time. lol

I need to get the lights set up, if anyone wants to help. Appears maybe some are modeled in. I have the contact points set now. I could not use your [eyepoint] settings,
so I made another for this model. SODE jetways work, but need to be a regional jet size, lower to ground. Flightbeams MSP seem good.

If this goes ok, I'll move on to the 900 and 1000.

Nice work, thanks for doing it!
-Jay

Only use the ModelConverter development releases. Version 1.3 is way outdated.

Relevant parts of the aircraft.cfg I'm using for the CRJ. Not sure how much is POSKY's or ACES' original work, what was modded by Simon and what I changed.

Will be sure to give this a try later on, really exited to see how it is from last time I used it. Also, would this work in P3D V4 as the cockpit is pretty much all XML's and not .GAU's?
