• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Help needed with FSX Planner

Fine Jon I will email the XML but I do not have the emai adress. Can you shoot it back to me. Thanks

checked my email and still don't have Jon's reply

That is because I have been asleep :) I have the XML and there are a lot of problems with it.

Parse complete!

First you appear to have a duplicate runway. That is two runways with the same number. You will need to get rid of one or change its number

Then there are a lot if taxi signs that have invalid labels. They have to meet the SDK format requirements. You have a lower case d in the third position on your signs and that is a control character for a direction sign. You need to change all these to an upper case D.

Then you have a warning that your tower is 8328668 meters from the airport, probably because the coordinates are not set for it. You need to find the tower and move it back onto the airport

Then you have a fuel trigger that is missing a fuel type. You need to give the fuel trigger some fuel types.

Then you have an improper value string in a library object name and one that looks like it does not have a name.

So you will need to work through each of these and correct the errors. You could correct the XML directly but it might be easier to go back through FSX Planner

Thanks Jon I'll do my best and try to correct the errors or maybe should I start from scratch? and delete the current XML from my documents? that double runway puzzels me because I never placed two, and was just thinking if it might have been created when I started a new airport? and thought that the older writings where deleted?

Manuel

I have fixed the xml and emailed it back to you. However you need to know that although it now compiles there are still a lot of faults at this airport that would stop it working properly in FSX. There were two runways present one under the other and identical. There were also two towers. One located at 0,0 and the other at the airport. I had to remove a scenery object that had no object identified. Also changed your taxi sign labels as best I could but you would need to check that they are what you want.

Jon thanks a lot. I still have not used ypur corrected XML. Being a little stuborn I started of from scratch, with just a runway an a tower. Filed was succesfully compiled and taken to FSX. Made a flight, landed, but found trees on the runway:eek:
guess those are the default fsx scenery on the place I placed the runway. Is there a way to correct this? :o

If this is a new airport then you are going to need to create an airport background polygon to flatten and clear the ground around your runway. FSX Planner cannot currently make one of those so you will need a utility that can

Thanks Jon will look for them and see what they can do. Just one more thing: can the BGL that I have created with FSPlanner be deleted

Not sure what you mean about deleting a bgl file. Of course you can delete it if you wish

By deleting the BGL file I mean if I can erase it from the scenery folder in FSX. If I need to do this in case I'm not able to flaten the area with the utilities that you have suggested.

Yes just delete it

Good morning Jon. Deleted the bgl created with FSPlanner. Managed to create a new airport with Airport Designer and also was able to compile it with no errors.Flattened it before compling. I now have on FSX 3 folders named:
SPCA_ADE-MHR which is the XML
SPCA_ADE_MHR_CVX.bgl
SPCA_ADE_MHR.BGL
So I copied and pasted both the bgl and BGL files to FSX/Scenery/Scenery and once found opened FSX,whent to Peru, and found no new airport:confused: what did I do wrong this time:mad:

You should put the files in Addon Scenery\Scenery\

Jon got my Christmas present and landed safely on ICA 300 Kms.South from Lima-Peru and I'm really happy:D:D and very thankfull for your help. But still need to bother you with a couple of questions:
1.- Managed to get rid of the trees on the runway. That is a big step. Don't know why the taxiways where not covered by the polygon that I placed around the airport. Can you help me with this.:o
2.- If I am to work on the corrections and once done, should I delete the bgl's before doing a new compilation or will the new one replace the existing one placed os FSX/scenery/scenery:confused:
