• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

msfsbglxml - convert MSFS (2020) BGL files to XML

The images I believe in the default MSFS KINT has the images of airplanes burnt into the ground or apron textures if that makes sense...if you look at it say from a drone. Don't think It is in my bgl. When i run the list of exclusions in my airport..there are none and none listed in the xml of my KINT.

They are in the photo scenery that underlies the airport. They are not in the XML - they exist only in the image. You would need to hide them with something like and apron
 
I mistakenly overwritten a XML of a project I was working on and would like to recover it. I have the bgl of the last saved version thankfully in my MSFS community file. Is this tool able to recover my xml?

Downloaded msfsbglxml-1.0.20210217 this date and successfully used it. Thanks very much for this useful tool.

I was able to confirm that the bgl contains the ILS navaids (LOC GS DME) but MSFS will not render them if the <DeleteAirport> parameter for DeleteAllILS is true. The expected behavior is that, as quoted from SDK documentation, "use this element to remove features from any previously loaded airport (including those that are defined as part of the base sim)." In reality, the ILS is removed from the currently loaded airport as well.
 
I ran the prog and confirmed "yes" to the terms, but now the prog does not act when running the exe file, what am I doing wrong?
 
I am not sure this will work...In MSFSBGLXML-1.0.20210217..there is a Bgl2xml_GUI.exe...

The author of this utility has not been active for several months. I will try and contact him. I will also take a look for changes.
This is what i have? probably FS9 and FSX? I never did figure out how to use the commandline...the one for MSFS?

That is my decompiler for FS9/FSX/P3D It does not work for MSFS and I have not made a compiler to that sim

I do not recognize those extensions for ADE 2020. ADE 2020 generated bg files from XML source.

I don't think that the developer of this program is still active so there is likely to be no support. what xml are you trying to get?
 
Hi Jon, thanks for responding. Well, actually a local airport (KLOU) has zero static aircraft (nor any AI aircraft at all regardless of in game AI aircraft settings) and I was going to attempt to look at some bgl's to try and figure out why. I have tried to open the trafficAircraft.bgl file in the AI folder without success and am attempting to open just about any bgl file just to see if the program works. Perhaps it no longer works with the current version of MSFS files?
