• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS Modding a 3rd party airport scenery installed in Community folder

Hello all, I am not entirely new to scenery creation for MSFS but now, again, I run into a problem that I am unable to solve myself. Hence my shout for help to you here :-) I got a commercial 3rd party airport scenery. It is installed in a dedicated folder and activated in Community folder by...

    MSFS Visibility

Hello all, just a short follow up on visibility conditions. I turned my static objects library into SimObjects library with associated visibility conditions. The conditions work as intended 👍, however only when being in the vicinity of the SimObject in question. What I mean is that I have e.g...

    MSFS Visibility

Thanks @Steffsim I also found out today in which way to connect conditions about: - time of day (dawn, day, dusk, night) - hours - month - precipitation This code works for a model to be shown from 10am until dawn (incl) but no later than 8pm from March to October and when not raining or...

    MSFS Visibility

Hi everyone, what an interesting thread. I have a library of common objects (ultralights, GA aircraft, gliders, trailers, cars...) that I use for my project and after reading this thread I started to swap this library from Scenery to SimObject and assign visibility conditions. It all works...

MSFS [GUIDE] How to create custom aerial scenery

Hello everyone, I am trying to add an aerial image and create an airport that does not exist in MSFS (really bad Bing imagery in the area). The airport creation is OK, the issue is the aerial imagery. I followed the tutorial, a project was compiled but it does not show in the sim (all addons...

    New Patch 1.10.7.0

OK, so installing a new version of SDK did not help. But I have noticed that the CTDs happened when the compiles was about to compile objects converted to gltf prior to certain date (18 Oct in my case). So I re-converted them with current version of MCX and all is OK now.

    New Patch 1.10.7.0

I am also experiencing CTDs when building a package. So far it seems it is due to some of the models in the package source. No pattern found so far. Will try to update the SDK once I am at my PC and will report back.

    MSFS 3-D Lights in MSFS

Hi Christian, could you share the solution with us, eventually? :) Thanks

    MSFS 3-D Lights in MSFS

Yes Christian, I suppose a MSFS 2020 version of your 3D lights might help until a proper and to the developer available implementation of native MSFS 2020 lights is available. I also noticed that even a commercial scenery does not have any obstacle light and, sadly, an obstacle light does not...

    MSFS 3-D Lights in MSFS

Not me but I am watching this thread :) I would like to add a default obstacle light (such as is attached to the default wind turbine model) to my models. But I have no idea how. Milan

MSFS Attached lights showing on ground level in MSFS 2020

Sure, no rush. Thank you. The models can be replaced in the library quite easily later on.

MSFS Attached lights showing on ground level in MSFS 2020

Hello Arno, one thing I have noticed with exporting attached lights. Some updates ago, this feature was working fine - lights attached to a model exported properly into MSFS 2020 (I was working with X Plane obj file). However, now the lights show below the model on the ground level in the sim...
