• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v5 Help With XML Gauge "If no recent increase in X, don't do Y"

Came up with a way: Used the sine of absolute time (that way no need to waste space with a timer) , and when that number is >= 0.95 (which happens randomly between 1 second and maybe 2 seconds), it takes a snapshot of current N2. While that's happening, current N2 is also being read live, so it...

P3D v5 Help With XML Gauge "If no recent increase in X, don't do Y"

Thank you! I get most of what you're saying and started to build this. One thing I'm having trouble with is actually measuring an increase more than once. Of course the first increase can be attributed to say, N2 being more than what it was at idle. My issue is once it's above that, how can I...

P3D v5 Help With XML Gauge "If no recent increase in X, don't do Y"

Yeah sorry, I kind of copied and pasted things from there without looking. Like I said it works pretty well except that one thing I’m trying to come up with.

P3D v5 Help With XML Gauge "If no recent increase in X, don't do Y"

Hello, I've been pretty successful the last few weeks with XML gauges. I just can't seem to wrap my head around a certain concept: I'm making a gauge that creates a sound when N2 is increased, only between 53% N2 to 60% N2. The gauge works great so far, one thing: I'd like the sound not to play...

P3D v5 DSD Sound Gauge Question

An update, tried pre-loading the sound using the "12" variable command, but didn't change the issue.

P3D v5 DSD Sound Gauge Question

Thanks for the reply! I totally understand that. One issue: let's say the sound has already played, in theory wouldn't it be in memory until the gauge is reloaded or the sim quit? I'm having this slight delay even after playing a sound mulitple times. Or should I just load them to memory via XML...

P3D v5 DSD Sound Gauge Question

Hello, I've had incredible success using Doug Dawson's 64-bit gauge to make many system sounds on various airplanes. The thing I was always wondering was why I always get a very short but very noticable gap between sounds that are single-play and looping. Is there a better way for me to code...

Adding a Delay to an XML Function

    I was wondering about how to add a delay to this function: <!-- ENG2 ON AND GEN --> (A:ENG2 N1 RPM, percent) 10 > (L:O09_012_LT2, number) 0 == and if{ 1 (>L:ENG2_POWER_ON,number) 1 (>L:AC_ON_ENG_PWR_STATE,number)...

    XML Gauge Sound Assistance

Thanks! Works very well now. Can I ask, what's the purpose of the and greater than statement? Forgive my ignorance but I'd like to learn.

    XML Gauge Sound Assistance

I found the symbol I was missing; disregard please. Couldn’t figure out how to delete the thread. The issue I'm having now is that HYD_PUMP_IS_ON is always returning true no matter what, so my <!-- A HYD Pump Is On --> (L:O04_016_LT2,number) 0 == (L:O04_015_LT2,number) 0 == or...

    XML Gauge Sound Assistance

First time posting here! I did a ton of research and worked for hours yesterday and today trying to figure this out. I'm adding my own sounds to a panel for a hydraulic spool, whine, and shut down. I've come very far and I've gotten it to work! I had it triggered by a single indicator light...
