• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 AI aircraft textures drop out at 1600 feet away from aircraft.

I am setting up an AI aircraft in a small scenery, the textures look good on the AI. But when I move away to 1600 feet and further the textures drop out, you only see the base model gray. Anything below 1600 feet the AI textures look good. I am not an aircraft modeler so I will ask a naive...

Thanks again GaryGB, Another collection of excellent information, a big help. It would be interesting if anybody had a copy of the, now lost - landclass table compiled by Gerrish Gray. Jay

FS2004- Thumbnail collection for ground textures?

I am experimenting with FS2004 ground textures. They are located in the scenery – world – texture folder. I have been clicking on each one individually to see what the numbers (e.g. 003b2su6.bmp) look like, very time consuming. Question: is there a collection of all the thumbnail image with...

FS2004-Aircraft brakes not stopping on ground.

GaryGB, Thank you for your persistence and patience helping me with my questions. I must apologize though for my awkward way of asking my questions. I think they lead to difficulty for the person trying to help me. I know very little of the nuts and bolts of SBuilder, so it is hard for me to be...

FS2004-Aircraft brakes not stopping on ground.

Thanks GaryGB, I was able to do this with the LWM Flatten but not with the VTP2 ground poly. It wont let me change elevation (grayed out). I can change one point at a time though and that seemed to fix the aircraft brake problem. See attachment. Jay

FS2004-Aircraft brakes not stopping on ground.

I think I made some headway. 1) AFCAD2 layer – set elevation at 942 meters. 2) SBuilder ground VTP2 poly layer points – set elevation points were at 0. 3) SBuilder FLATTEN layer - set elevation at 942 meters. I tinkered with the VTP2 ground poly and was able to set one of the points to 942...

FS2004-Aircraft brakes not stopping on ground.

I am working on a country airfield where you need to get off the taxi way. The aircraft brakes work fine on the runway and taxi way but when you get on the surrounding ground they do not stop the aircraft. I know this is possible to have the breaks work on the ground areas, I must have forgotten...

SBuilder or FS2004 flips custom ground textures?

I am in the processes of relearning SBuilder for FS2004, from 8 years ago. I am working with custom made ground textures (not photo textures). I am trying to remember why after making a ground texture with custom lines on it, I then compile bgl to FS9, I see that the textures are flipped...
