• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    FSX Vertices alignment question

Hi Arno, If you mean the button that toggles between Abolute and Offset Mode Transform Type-In, I've tried all the combinations of select vertices/toggle with that button, with the same result. To use my previous example, if I use the Offset Mode, the values displayed in the XYZ fields are...

    FSX Vertices alignment question

Hi Arno, If I select an individual vertex and type in the Z value, it gets moved to the wanted position. If I select many vertices that have different Z coordinates, they don't move relatively to their own Z coordinate, but instead relatively to some sort of average Z coordinate or pivot...

    FSX Vertices alignment question

Hi, I have multiple vertices to move at a certain height on the Z axis, and I'm looking for a fast way to align them all in one move. Moving them one by one is very time consuming. I have tried to do so by selecting all the vertices and using the absolute mode transform type-in, but this...

FSX GMax export warning - Degenerate poly

I found the needle in the haystack ! When I replaced the problematic objects by properly working ones, I had to weld a few unused vertices, and for experimental purposes I redid the same welding procedure I did in the defective model, and I got the same 3 warning messages during export. I...

FSX GMax export warning - Degenerate poly

I finally fixed my model by deleting the problematic objects in my gmax file, and replacing them by merging the same objects from earlier versions I saved along the way. That doesn't explain the cause of the degenerate polys, but it sure beats searching for a needle in a haystack, espacially...

FSX GMax export warning - Degenerate poly

I tried welding vertices and remove Isolated Vertices, and I got the same 3 warnings about degenerate polys. Hint: I checked out my model in ModelConvertedX, and in the event log there are 3 lines saying ''AllObjectReader Information Cleanup: Did remove triangle with zero area''. It's...

FSX GMax export warning - Degenerate poly

Hi, I have been creating and exporting models for a while now, and I occasionnally received warning messages about degenerate polys, which I have fixed without any problems. This time I got a similar warning message during export, but the face vertices mentionned simply do not exist. I...
