• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Will buying from Steam mean you sign into just Steam or Steam and Microsoft ?

Hello, I am curious as to why you deleted your reshade presets for Flightsim World. I re-installed it recently and thought I'd try them. Paul Kemp.

    Flightsim World to FSX

Thanks Tom. That wasn't really the problem. No matter how you size it or which gauge you use the fonts come out squashed. I used <SizeScale> to alter elements of the gauge but it's still not very good. It seems to be something in the MDL that distorts it.

    Flightsim World to FSX

I put the stock FSX ADF in the same position. Its font is distorted too. Is the mdl doing it?

    Flightsim World to FSX

Hello, I have converted a DA40 from Flightsim World to FSX but have problem with the gauges. They display correctly in 2D but not in the virtual cockpit. They gauge 1024 x 256 it's native size in both cases. The fonts are stunted in 3D. The $ part covers the glass area of the gauge. Thanks, Paul.

    ModelDef case syntax

Thanks. I just found it in fsxsdk.chm but was still puzzled by the 1== at the end. All clear now.

    FSW SDK

I should have pointed out I'm trying to build a radio stack for the FSX c172 running in FSW and testing with this simple gauge. I uploaded the gauge to the gauge forum.

    FSW SDK

I've been playing with the FuelPressure.xml from the FSX SDK converted with GaugeConverter.exe from the FSW SDK. Using this panel entry I got the gauge working in 2d. [Window06] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=100,80 window_size_ratio=1 position=0 visible=0 ident=11002 render_d3d=1...

These are the gauges in Flightsim World. The second is the converted gauge. Niether has the digits. I was hoping to make radio stack for the FSX C172 running in Flightsim World.

Is that running in FSX or Flightsim World ?

    Flightsim World gauges

A little more info. FSW gauges use .dds files and .fnt fonts FSX gauges use .bmp files and .ttf fonts but FSW gauges in FSX aircraft seem to be treated as FSX gauges. You can write gauges that only use .bmp (background & needle) but gauge the text doesn't appear...

The gauge is from the FSX SDK and was converted with GaugeConverter.exe from the FSW SDK.
