• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    tmf viewer

Okay, I've installed SbuilderX. I open it, click "new project" and there's a blank screen. At the bottom there's the Lat and Lon coordinates plus the Dir and File numbers. As I move the cursor around all of those change. Rather than trying hopelessly to zero in on my project's numbers, I just...

    tmf viewer

I'm new bear with me please. I'm trying to use the tmf viewer to look at the elevations at my airport. I have the Dir and File number for the location but don't know how to input them? When I open the viewer and click File I'm supposed to navigate to the file to open instead of inputting the...

    Rivers

Is it possible to find and trace lowest elevations in the terrain to route a river? I'm working on a stock airport I'm familiar with that has a nearby river. I've used a Google Earth aerial image to route it but it doesn't match the terrain. I don't care if the river is placed exactly where the...

If you mean "stock airport", yes. KEKN.....off and on I've been working on it for years

    Apron Taxi markings

I use only center lines for taxi into parking spots. Yet some of those center lines show in the sim and some don't. As you can see, there are no curving center lines in the foreground but one in the back ground circled On that subject what's the difference between "draw surface" and "draw...

    Connecting ADE to FSX?

(Okay, this shows as a reply only because I was going to a couple of weeks ago but didn't.) To update, I have ADE working as it should. I uninstalled it and reinstalled I've opened a couple of airports made minor terrain changes and object placements or deletions and they are properly...

    Connecting ADE to FSX?

I didn't create a scenery.cfg file I created a folder to hold it per the instructions given by File Priority Analyzer (attached). As for being created when I installed FSX that would have been about 10 years ago.

    Connecting ADE to FSX?

Good morning Doug. I thought I had posted this yesterday to Tom. Anyway there's been some progress. I found that if I click Project > Find I can open my airport instead of being sent to my Documents folder. So that's not a problem. I was able to add some parking spots with taxipaths that...

    Connecting ADE to FSX?

Those 2 bgl files that were marked in red above, need to be copied within FSX: SE (Steam) so that it can read/ update the airports. You will need to create a folder named "Addon Scenery" at this location: ..\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\FSX\Addon Scenery\ After you have done that...

    Connecting ADE to FSX?

Hello Doug.....I think I have a mess! Maybe it's time to start from scratch? Looked for .bgl files where they are supposed to be. The two screen shots attached are interesting. The folders contain files from years ago when I started with ADE and I'm using the same two airports this time...
