• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Flightsim.to new business model and terms of service leaves content creators without rights to their own work

Wow... I must say I see no point in further discussing with you as it seems that you are incapable of having a civil discussion and instead resort to personal attacks and belittling.

Yeah, but that is just how copyright works, even if that wasn't stated in the ToS it's you as the creator that has to assure that you have the rights for the things you make. And yes I know the reality is that a lot/most repaints for example doesn't actually have the necessary agreements to do...

In your terms then he is 'micro dissecting' the ToS and not a conversation he has had with them, I'm just responding to his comments on the ToS, nothing wrong with that for neither of us... That is part of having a discussion! I honestly do not now of any flight simulator websites that hosts...

How can you find 4.1 problematic? That basically just says you aren't allowed to upload stuff you do not have the permission to upload and it's your ass on the line if you upload stuff that you do not have the right to, that seems perfectly reasonable no? Without that third parties could for...

Just found this on reddit. And I can also see the deletion policy has changed now on their website, so deletions are allowed again!

I can only assume you mean this: ? That is also in the ToS I am talking about it's just section 4.3 the clause I'm talking about is section 4.7... So my point still stands, they have never had the right to outright sell the freeware scenery hosted on their site!

You say that, but that part i quoted was also there in August last year... As far as I can tell they actually have had that part since they changed the ToS to not allow deletions some time early last year

They don't really have that option though? As stated in their current ToS: So they can't start selling it... And when/if the new ToS allows for deletion then there will most likely be something like that the licens you granted them is terminated after the files is deleted.

No, no it's not: There are also plenty of cases of videos getting deleted after people have their channels hacked and YouTube being able to restore them afterwards, so they definitely keeps a copy even after you delete your stuff.

I agree that the lack of right to deletion is bad but as to the new business model How so? It is not like they can sell your work without your permission as is also stated in the ToS: Is it though? YouTube explicitly state that they can put your content behind a paywall without compensation to...

Sorry to say so, but that ToS isn't exactly new, they had the same thing back in 2020: The big difference back then was that you could have your content deleted (At least according to the ToS) https://web.archive.org/web/20201028204310/https://flightsim.to/legal/terms But these kind of terms...

MSFS20 Anybody have any insights into the new lightning system?

I haven't really seen any major changes, except for more lightning options for painted lines, though still no way to place your own center lines with correct lights (they just have offset blue lights, not the green they should have) or ability to control the intensity of the lights, but...

MSFS20 Making objects that are firm/you cant drive through?

I think it is for buttons in cockpits etc. At least the SDK mentions it that way "When checked, meshes with this material will have collidable faces. This can be used to create precise colliders, for example for mouse interaction. Use this with low-resolution meshes."
