StripXML is a small utility designed for my own use that analyses a FSX airport file in XML format, removes from it any airport features that are incompatible with FS9 and converts any <Scenery Object> records to FS9 format. Using StripXML, you can easily convert an airport designed for use with FSX for FS9 use, thus allowing both FS9 and FSX versions of an airport to be derived from a single "afcad" while allowing the FSX version to utilize FSX-only features. Of course, to be visible in FS9, the <Scenery Object) records must refer to library objects also available in FS9 under the equivalent FS9-style Guid.

Start StripXML, specify the path to the airport XML file and click the Go button. The FS9 XML file will be placed in the same folder as the FSX file but with a "_FS9" suffix on the file name. The FSX file is not changed.
