• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

This is a new project (a small one too) and that's why I'm trying 3.6 now! :) But I can't get past this issue, I created materials from scratch and I can't get rid of this stupid warning... I want 3.6 to work. Do you guys actually use Base Color to shade your textures, and does that color...

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

Interesting, the Wall and Metal material are like that but others are not. I don't know how it got that way or how to turn it into a MSFS Material, I must have imported that one and made the others from scratch. I re-created the offending materials to make the shaders look like yours, I open...

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

3.3 works fine for me also with no warnings, and I do use the latest version (I think 3.3.18?). Those warnings and related material issues only happen in 3.6, I was hoping to change to 3.6 after my last project but since I can't get it to export properly I'm still using 3.3.18 for now. I would...

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

So I played around with 3.6 some more to characterize the issue. It seems to be triggered by two objects using the same material. - There is no warning if I only a material only to one object - The warning goes away if a material is assigned to two objects, and I make a copy of one of the...

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

I am definitely using the latest 1.3.3 exporter when I get this issue.

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

Base colors. I use them to colorize textures. I attached the blend file (no textures as they are quite large and separate, and you should be able to get the exporter error without them I think). Edit: just in case it matters, I imported some of the objects in this blend file from other blend...

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

Yes, but when I got these warnings before I also noticed the material colors didn't work in my model. With Blender 3.3 I get no warnings using the same file.

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

I gave it another try so I made sure to disable custom properties (by first unchecking the MSFS extensions boxes, then checking them again after unchecking custom properties). I opened the file in Blender 3.6, exported, and when I do "Clean All" in the project and build it again with the object...

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

Are my settings from the exporter in 3.6 correct, on the above screenshot? With those settings I’m getting “Material with this name already exists” errors and material colors don’t work.

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

Right, my mistake. So 3.6.x should be supported by exporter 1.3.3 then? Is it a question of settings?

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

Oh? And where does one get 1.3.4, the latest I see on GitHub is 1.3.3: https://github.com/AsoboStudio/glTF-Blender-IO-MSFS/releases Also, the page clearly says it’s compatible with 3.x, which implies 3.6: “The version 1.3.x is compatible with Blender 3.3.x LTSand 3.6.x LTS only. We can't...

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

And just after I posted this I tried exporting again, with the Custom Properties option, and it's STILL giving me this error in 3.6. These are my current exporter settings: Using Blender 3.3 with the exact same file fixes the issue. Also, how do I know which image these errors refer to? It...

Blender Export from Blender 3.6x using last exporter version 1.3.3 ( new options in settings )

What a coincidence, I just tried switching to Blender 3.6 from 3.3 and I was also having major issues with something as simple as materials. First I compiled a project with a single hangar exported from 3.3 (11:21). Then I exported the same unaltered file with 3.6, matching the exporter options...

    Jetway glass material issues

I imported a couple of glass materials into my jetway object (HUGE thanks to Oltcit Room for his tutorial and tireless help by the way, thank you) and I noticed that the fancy glass with metallic texture doesn't show up in the sim. Here's how it looks in Blender: In the sim there is...

    MSFS EHEH - Eindhoven Airport

Thanks. So you basically have a full unique texture for each entire roof? I normally use tiling textures and put a dirt decal on top in Blender. I would have though that using a full unique texture for the roof of each building might be unmanageable, if you have them all 4K. I imagine for very...

    MSFS EHEH - Eindhoven Airport

I had a good look on my PC and I noticed the textures on the rooftop and other things I missed before. I don't think I've ever seen any better texturing: no sight of a repeating pattern, how each rooftop is darker around the edges, the individual drip marks under each window, individual...

Looks great. What made you pick EHEH as a project by the way?

Some of my customers report missing textures in some default assets

Similar issue with another couple of users who see a white checkerboard instead of grass on a couple of Aprons here: This grass material was from microsoft-airport-smdh-heliponto-mirante-dona-marta, and they have the package installed.

Some of my customers report missing textures in some default assets

A couple of people reported missing textures in some assets in my scenery, and I tracked it down to certain Asobo packages. For example: These buildings and ILS antenna are in asobo-airport-knfl-nas-fallon. But they say they have it installed, and in fact if I uninstall it myself, the whole...
