• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

Hey all, Back again with another update, and this one is one I've been excited (but patiently waiting) to show you for quite some time. This is one of the ideas that I first had several years ago but have only now finally managed to bring to life. A very rewarding feeling :) There's a lot to...

MSFS Lift vs AoA Table Causes Crash Upon Loading

I'm not familiar with what expert mode is, I'm just editing the raw .cfg file in Notepad++. I'm also simply closing and reopening the sim for each major edit. I've isolated the crash to that particular line in the cfg.

MSFS Lift vs AoA Table Causes Crash Upon Loading

Hi all, Working on a project, I am attempting to set an airliner's lift to AoA table. I do this manually via the flight_model.cfg file. If I use the following incorrect table: lift_coef_aoa_table = -3.15:0, -0.8:-1.154, -0.4:-0.928, -0.2:-0.781, -0.1:-0.262, 0:0.230, 0.14:1.009, 0.16:1.130...

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

Hey all, Some quick updates from behind the scenes. I think the coolest thing that has happened since the last update has been the implementation of the triple channel autoland fail-operational Sperry SPZ-1-922 autopilot (what a mouthful!). Originally this was intended to be an option that I...

    Boeing 707 AI Model (FS9/FSX/P3D)

Hey all, I've had this model laying around for about the last 3 years or so, and originally it was the first complete model I made with Blender. I originally made it with the intent of exporting FS9, FSX, and P3D versions, but this was before it became clear to me that Blender cannot (readily)...

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

Thanks! It's progressing well, my attention has briefly switched back to an AI Boeing 707 project that I may show here soon. I am putting the final touches on misc features such as the radios and night lighting. I intend to send the panel to my beta tester sometime in the next couple months...

    FS2004 aircraft mdl export

Just want to chime in and say thank you so much for working so hard on getting MCX to export aircraft mdl files. It's really got me inspired to re-examine my FS9 AI Boeing 707 project again. If only there were a clean way to export a .x directly from blender like with the Blender2FSX add-ons...

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

Theoretically it's actually pretty simple. The biggest differences will simply be adjusting for the different locations of the visual model origins, and the potential that my particular flight model might break the flap animations on the POSKY model. Otherwise, two different airfiles, but not...

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

At the moment I have no plans for fictional liveries. I will however be releasing some liveries for the CLS model on my custom paint-kit, and there is a slight chance I may do the same for the POSKY model with that version of the panel as well.

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

Oohh man if I had the money and the space... You better believe I would do exactly that! I really do want to make my own sound pack with all the correct engine harmonics and such but there's not enough high quality recordings I could use to do so, not to mention none of them include data on the...

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

One more slight adjustment to the lights, then I'll move on to something else, I promise  This time, something spicy was added to the mix... That's right, to solve the debate once and for all on the color of these darn lights, I picked myself up a real panel from a 747 on ebay. I...

FS2004 Doug Dawson XML Sound and Repeating Sounds

Hello all, Simple question, I want to know if it is possible to create repeating (i.e., not looping, but playing multiple times in rapid succession) sounds using DD's XML sound gauge. The way the gauge currently works, as I understand it, is that if a sound is currently playing, that same sound...

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

Alright, it's been a hot minute, some real life things have gotten in the way lately, but I have been working away in the background, and I even managed to get in a week vacation to Washington, DC where I got to see the Northwest 747 cockpit that is in the Smithsonian. I used the opportunity to...

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

I might ask you to send those along to me somehow if you're willing... I'd hate to completely lose access to realistic weather. I have FSGRW now that ASE no longer works, I actually find I like how it works much better than ASE. Much simpler interface, automatic reloading of AI, and I find the...

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

Thanks so much! All of the panel is at 1920 x 1080 resolution, and it holds up really well on my 2K monitor. I am creating most of the graphics by hand (such as the panels and text) so that they will be as crisp as possible. The recent news that Active Sky Evolution will no longer function has...

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

Not to worry Jon, I keep multiple backups that get updated every single day (sometimes multiple times a day), including an online cloud backup. If anything should happen, I am never more than a single day's development behind.

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

The arduous task of updating all of my code to include night lighting bitmaps has begun... The final product will have all the same night lighting options (flood lights, back lights, etc.) as the real aircraft, though only selectable between on and off as I do not have the patience to make them...

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

Here's a sneak preview of the forward pedestal area, which itself is part of the much larger (and unfinished) throttle panel. Full previews of that panel to come soon probably as it is nearing finished. First thing to notice is the INS: it is the standard Simufly CIVA INS, but with a graphical...
