• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Shutting Down ADE Sites and Services

Thank you for all the effort put in over the years and Happy times for the future. It is such a shame that all this wonderful code and knowledge will be lost forever. Heres hoping you will see it in your heart to upload the source to Github so that others may benefit from your experience and...

    MSFS 2024, The Sequel

I hope they fix the slowness of the startup as is current in MSFS2020. The initial sequence of splash screens and other crap takes so much time and then there is the update check. It literally takes MINUTES to actually get to a flight. And then there is the Joystick problem. In FSX the Joystick...

    Time to Retire

Thanks for your great work all these years. I have just one request - could you now make your source available on Github or such so that other programmers can pick up the slack and run with further improvements? It would be such a waste for your knowledge acquired over so many years to simply...

    Funny situ with forum Notifications

Today I logged in to find a "1" next to the bell icon to the right of the forum, signifying that I had 1 notification. So I clicked it to see what it was. The notification said "You have no new alerts." Lol.

If anyone cares to give it a try, I'll appreciate any feedback

Yes the map and everything else I see is working. However the "Not in flight" message is always there. Mine is Windows10 64x. The problem is that the simconnect.dll and the .net wrapper are both 64bit and the project is compiled as 64bit. To get it to work with FSX (provided you have NOT made...

If anyone cares to give it a try, I'll appreciate any feedback

Tested in FSX-SE. Started FSX. Selected a flight. Flying. Paused flight. Run FSTrAk. Does not work. Screen comes up but top left "Not in flight". I think that it needs to be recompiled with the 32Bit version of simconnect.dll and the 32bit lib of Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.dll.

Cannot Run MSFS 2020 Just Because I Don't Have Enough Space?

That would be the long way. 1. Download Junction from here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/junction 2. Website also tells you how to use it. 3. Practice on some folder you create. 4. When you know how it works (very easy) shut down MSFS, grab the largest folders from...

Cannot Run MSFS 2020 Just Because I Don't Have Enough Space?

Unfortunately you accepted the default install location for MSFS which is - surprise - c:\ drive and now you are out of space. Although I had a 1 TB SSD on my laptop, I chose to install MSFS on my 2 TB SSD. Funnily enough MSFS installed in D:\ but automatically created folders and Junctions in...

MSFS20 Getting Started With FS2020 HTML Gauges

For those following this thread, as I stated above I found 2 other "text.html" files in my FS2020 folders. One for maps and another for a gauge. Attached is the test.html gauge file. Copying it to my test dev folder I am able to run it using VS2022 as shown in the OP video. Here is what it...

MSFS20 Getting Started With FS2020 HTML Gauges

Nope. Not touching anything there. It took me too long to download all the files and updates. Simply pointing out to non Steam users where the test.html could be located on their system.

MSFS20 Getting Started With FS2020 HTML Gauges

I have the FS2020 installed from the MS Store so there is no Steam folder. Also because of storage constraints on my C:\ drive I installed it on my 2TB veryfast D:\ drive. The install created 2 folders: d:\XBox.... where all the FS files were stored d:\Wpsystem where all the other files...

How do I dive into the FSX SDK?

    1. Install it. 2. Read the documentation 3. Look at the sample files. Most are in C++ but some use the .net and there is a .dll to interface between the c++ simconnect.dll and .net. 4. search for "simconnect" on github to see what others have done. BOL

FSX Adding traffic tools and effects to tools menu in FSX se

You could try putting the FULL PATH into the dll.xml file as I have done <Path>C:\FSX-SE\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\Object_Placement.dll</Path> This is what I have and they appear in FSX: <Launch.Addon> <Name>Traffic Toolbox</Name> <Path>C:\FSX-SE\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic...
