• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Corrupted .TSD File?

    Wonderful! Thanks for the help!!

    Corrupted .TSD File?

Sorry, but I'm still getting the issue above. Attached are the files. As a side note, the values should be in the ~430m/1410ft elevation range.

    Corrupted .TSD File?

Thanks for the help, it now properly triangulates! However, I have now run into another issue when compiling the data I provided above: I have looked around for anything that looked out of the ordinary, but I can see triangles between every set of sculpt nodes.

    Corrupted .TSD File?

    No problem, thanks!

    Corrupted .TSD File?

Didn't think about that, here you go! Also, I should note that I had the issue before removing the flatten. I thought that removing the flatten would solve the issue, since that's what the dialog was about. Michael

    Corrupted .TSD File?

First I want to thank you for such a great program! The idea of a similar process to sculpt terrain was something I have had for a while now, so I was ecstatic to see this program when I did. It has been working great so far. However, I think I've run into an issue. I was making huge progress...

    Editing USGS DEM Data

Thanks for the help! That program is great.

    Editing USGS DEM Data

Howdy folks, it's been a while. It's also good to be back. Lately, I've been dabbling in the addition of accurate terrain data courtesy of the USGS National Map Viewer and the subsequently-retrieved 1/3 arc second DEM data. All of the data that I have been able to find for my project areas...

P3D v2 Colorado Springs Airport (KCOS)

Thanks for the help. I'll see what I can do. Also, will this P3D native poly accept shadows? I am aware that the ground poly produced the old way will not accept shadows.

P3D v2 Colorado Springs Airport (KCOS)

Nice work! I am a huge fan of the specular mapping on the asphalt. This might be a stupid question, but I can't seem to find a "direct" answer anywhere... How exactly does one make a "FSX Native" (or P3D Native) ground poly? I'm still using the old FS8 process and running it through MCX, but...

    P3D v2 X40 (KINF) Inverness, Florida

Thanks Jim, that got it working! :)

    P3D v2 X40 (KINF) Inverness, Florida

Nope, autogen trees work just fine. I've been using "set default transparent" just like normal on these bushes.

    FSXA Stanly County Airport [WIP]

This is still a work in progress but I just wanted to show off the ground poly! We hope to have this done before too long. We are also planning to release this as freeware! All pictures shown are in FSX, but it will also be compatible with P3D. Enjoy! ......and one from P3D with...

    P3D v2 X40 (KINF) Inverness, Florida

Interesting, because for some reason I still am getting the "boxes" rather than the true alpha trace... (This is running the most recent build of P3D v2.2)

    P3D v2 X40 (KINF) Inverness, Florida

What material setting allows the shadows to be traced through the alpha channel (specifically for the trees)?

    Ground Poly Flicker

The ASM files are attached below. The .X file is available at the link below. Depending on your browser you may have to right-click and Save File As. Thanks for taking a look! http://theairportguys.com/filetransfers/KVUJ/vuj-ground-l.x

    Ground Poly Flicker

Recompiled from 3DS and lowered it down to 16, still wants to disappear at a low level.

    Ground Poly Flicker

I tried using 44 and got the same result.

    Ground Poly Flicker

I removed the autogen line (the line between BGL_END and BGL_RETURN in the _0.asm) and it's still flickering.

    Ground Poly Flicker

Yes. The thing that's confusing me is how the actual ground poly itself is not having any flicker issues. Because of the ASM editing required to make it turn off during the day, I can't run that through MCX like I would normally do. @TGibson Yes, but this is shocking because it has never...
