• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS Exclude Default Simobjects (Wind Turbine)

That's what I thought too, that has to be communicated properly. Intervention in the display of a SimObject with global effects is critical. I know, however, that the developers of the MFS are interested in this and read along well and I am sure that there will soon be a remedy on this point...

MSFS Exclude Default Simobjects (Wind Turbine)

Hello Sascha. Since I could not exclude the wind turbines at the time, I did not pursue the topic any further. I had developed my own wind turbines and these got the same SIM-Name as the MSFS default wind turbines. In the result, all default wind turbines were then replaced by mine - worldwide...

MSFS Light Row and attached 3d model (heading)

Hello Sascha. Yes, that is correct, the 3-D model does not point in the direction of the drawn line. In all likelihood I'll have to think about something else. But hand-placed underfloor lights are probably out of the question, because the effort would be too much for me. After all, the...

MSFS Light Row and attached 3d model (heading)

Thank you Cédrice. But maybe someone has advice on how to get the underfloor lights to follow the direction of the light row. As is the case here in this post: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/solved-apron-lights-appeared-automatically.449358/

MSFS Light Row and attached 3d model (heading)

Hi! I'm in the process of creating taxi lights and underfloor lights using Light Row. That works really well: As you can see, everything is fine so far. But when it comes to the underfloor lights, then the attached 3-D model is not oriented in the right direction: The 3-D model should...

    MSFS Animated People (Character Animation)

Okay, maybe it's time to talk about the sewing process in the hope that a variety of creativity will emerge from it :) For users of the 3-D software 3ds Max! Look for this term: populate data 3dsm And it immediately becomes clear to you how you can get dozens, hundreds to unlimited, animated...

MSFS Chevrolet Suburban for MFS - WIP

Thank you very much! It goes on briskly :) Most of the base textures have been extended to PBR textures. This includes Base Color, Comp and Normal Maps. Wherever possible, the MSFS PBR material was used instead of textures. For example, for painting. The people in the vehicle have now also...

    MSFS Animated People (Character Animation)

Very nice. You should be working with the FBX format. I've got the best results with this in 3dsm. Both animations and the 3-D models can be imported and exported without errors. That is what I can contribute to the subject so far :)

    MSFS Animated People (Character Animation)

Maybe I'll do a tutorial later. Unfortunately, I don't have the time at the moment. When I write something on the subject, it's all about 3dsm2020.3. I don't use any other 3-D software, such as Blender. Do you use Blender or 3dsm? In the meantime, something to loosen up ;)

    P3D v4 Character animation in Prepar3Dv4

Yes, we actually planned to integrate that into a scenery. Later nothing more came of this idea. Yes, that is intended in the P3D. This is done using the Avatar Detach/Attach command and is documented in the SDK.
