• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    SDK 0.12.0.0 & update 1.15.7.0

I've been brooding over this all day. Here's what I'm doing for scenery: The problem is we want to tweak models and sim objects, add and subtract them, and this doesn't work well with the new sim version. The key is the Virtual file system. It only wants us to use models in either the Official...

    SDK 0.12.0.0 & update 1.15.7.0

Of course this will not work for Steam users. A popup from Steam will tell you the sim is already running. There may be a work-around by using a powershell script. My example: D:\Programs\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\FlightSimulator -I ";" BuildAssetPackages...

    SDK 0.12.0.0 & update 1.15.7.0

I have always used the fspackagetool to compile objects. And I have then placed the compiled package into Community, so they are then available for placement. Alternatively, they could be placed with the ADE 2020 alpha...

MSFS SDK/Sim Update - no objects visible anymore....

I have read if you move your entire project folder to Community, and work from there, the library objects will show. Also, I think if you compile the project, place that new package in the Community folder, you then can access the library objects by name.

MSFS 2020 version 1.15.70 - any wasm module makes the sim miserably crash.

The WASM problem has been noted on the MSFS forums.

Finally figured out how to get the colored_marking tile to reverse, but...

You can then use it as a projected mesh, with it's options. Projected mesh over colored gravel apron: I understand there may be issues with the clarity of the ProjectedMesh. If you use a planar scenery object, place it with no shadow and raise 0.01 above the surface.

MSFS ADE 2020 Alpha 18 Released

The mikeaat-assetpack has an object in it which ADE (using Arno's DLLs) does not like. Mikeatt-Glider-Fox. MCX doesn't decompile it either... but it can be shown and placed by the in-sim DevMode. (I'm using Arno's latest MCX DLLs in ADE and in MCX). MCX reports 'glTF binary chunk type is not...

Instead of Add Folder try Add File. Does the same thing happen?

Projected Mesh - How useful are they?

I think the Projected Mesh can serve the same purpose as a ground poly would in FSX. There might be some developers that would still like this. I haven't played with this a lot, but maybe they could be used for coloring water or coral reefs.

    MSFS Duplicate GUID

I just had an instance of a gltf I made that had a guid conflict. The model was processed through MCX, but that was not the problem. The guid did work in the past, but the new update apparently included a guid that matched mine. First time that ever happened to me. The end-result was my model...

    MSFS WorldScripts

There hasn't been a lot of discussion about WorldScripts. These scripts allow a developer to include motion to simobjects. This could be animals, birds, vehicles, airplanes... The default scripts are in the asobo-scenarii folder. They can be added to your airports with the in-game DevMode...

Is it possible to Export OBJECT files from BGL Formatted

MCX does complete working on the props BGL. It just takes a few hours. It would probably be better to use the batch conversion wizard if you plan to convert the objects to a different format.

If you make a change to the package folder structure, you might end up with 2 packages. Best to start fresh.
