• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX GE View 2: HttpX 2.0 and EarthProxy 1.2 FSX thru P3D v3

Hi again, Bob. Nice to hear from you. My plugin seems to work but it still has some problem. I took the idea from someone of updating the position of Earth rewriting a kml file. Then I use a network link to this kml file, and I can adjust the refresh rate of the link to values of 15-20 per...

FSX GE View 2: HttpX 2.0 and EarthProxy 1.2 FSX thru P3D v3

Hi, Rob. This post is probably offtopic, but anyway... I have followed your work for years. I'm trying to do an "adaptation" of your excellent GE View for X-Plane. It would be freeware, of course. My way to do it is by writing the "realtime GPS.kml" file all the time from the simulator with the...

P3D v4 New to gauge programming, Weighing my options. Appreciate your advice.

Marwan, perhaps you already made your decision, but as I had the same questions I can tell you something from my point of view. XML is way easier to work with. So, stick to it as much as possible. One problem is that some graphics are not as sharp and clear as we would like (specially with...

FSXA To 3D or Not To 3D

... and you can undock and re-size a 3d gauge if you create a new camera with a front view of the gauge. During the flight, you open it as a "new view" and you will have an undocked and resizeable 3D gauge. Yeeeeeessss, I know. Too many hours spent with FSX!!!

FSXA To 3D or Not To 3D

I agree with most people here: For screens, just a 3d frame and a 2D gauge on a poly. For needdles, it's far better a 3D gauge. 3D gauges are smoother and more precise. For instance, when I use FSX to train IFR flight, 2D attitude indicators are not enough precise. The minimum displacement of...

Hi Tom. Sorry for my insistence. Did you have time to check the issue with the number of captures? :)

    XMLKEYS limitations??

Thank you again for your efforts. XMLTOOLS is an outstanding tool. And... yes, that's the way I do it. I have good teachers here in fsdeveloper. :) Regards.

    XMLKEYS limitations??

Hi Tom. I always use FSX schema. And as I said: - I have code of different update sections working. - I have tried dividing the assignations in more than one gauge files obtaining the same results...

    XMLKEYS limitations??

Good morning, Tom. Thank you for your answer. I have to puntualize that I'm using XMLTOOLS for P3D v4. What I have done, schematically is as follows: Update section 1 joystick button assignation 1 joystick button assignation 2 .............. joystick button assignation 12 /Update...

    XMLKEYS limitations??

Hi again!. I'm trying to map the keyboard and a joystick with XMLKEYS. It works fine for the joystick and some keys, but the last key asignations in the code do not work. I have made many tests. If I cut some assignations in the middle, the last do work. I have divided the code in order to have...

    FS2004 TRU Display

Yes, it could be. For this I use a random value that I add to the code: <Value>(L:Stby_TRU_res,number) (L:needle flicker, volts) - (L:ramdom value, number) +</Value> This random value can take positive and negative values and has to be generated in the update section. It can be dependent on...

    FS2004 TRU Display

I'm glad it worked for you. Now you can use the same system to simulate every "transitional" effect in your model. Regards.

    FS2004 TRU Display

Perhaps that would be another solution but I find "my" system more simple and easy to implement. Of course, it's a matter of choice. Regards.

    FS2004 TRU Display

Hi. You have an error. You should change this: <Value>(L:Stby_TRU_res,number) (L:needle flicker, volts)</Value> For this: <Value>(L:Stby_TRU_res,number) (L:needle flicker, volts) -</Value> This means that the needle will point to the value of (L:Stby_TRU_res,number) minus (L:needle...
