• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS When landing, my amphibious aircraft lets the ocean into the cockpit...

Thanks Wickedbacon92. I'll give that a try. I've done that for rain effects for cockpit glass, but did not read through to see that it covers other stuff.

MSFS When landing, my amphibious aircraft lets the ocean into the cockpit...

I'm working on an amphibian (Supermarine Walrus) using Blender, and it's going well. However--and I've had this problem with all amphibious aircraft I've ever done--the ocean invades the interior of the aircraft during water landings. I tested the Asobo Icon A5, and no matter how rough a...

MSFS MSFS 3d gauges--altimeter keyframes help please

Thanks GlideSimmer67. A big help! I've also been watching Brandon's Youtube vids. Without his videos I might have given up trying to make planes for MSFS!

MSFS MSFS 3d gauges--altimeter keyframes help please

One last question GlideSimmer67. If you have a sec could you post a screenshot of your Blender animation screen for just one of the needles, showing how you position the keyframes? That would be a huge help!

MSFS MSFS 3d gauges--altimeter keyframes help please

I'll benefit from the switches discussion, too. Thanks for starting that.

MSFS MSFS 3d gauges--altimeter keyframes help please

Thanks so much, GlideSimmer67, for going to all this trouble. It's an immense help to me. I'll give your ideas a try tonight and I'll report back here to let you know how it works out. Thanks again. Edit: I forgot to say nice job on your FIRST plane. It looks great!

MSFS MSFS 3d gauges--altimeter keyframes help please

I'm new to 3d gauges, but am making good progress with my current MSFS project. I've got most gauges I've created working fine, but am stumped when it comes to figuring out what keyframes and related settings are needed for altitude gauge needles. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

MSFS SDK/Sim Update - no objects visible anymore....

It appears that someone at Asobo decided that people were having trouble with the in-game dev-mode project editor, and decided to add a couple of new dialog boxes to the process to "help" users deal with the "difficult" process that worked JUST FINE prior to the latest update. They seem to have...

    MSFS Center gear animation stuck

So, if the animation length is supposed to be 100, it makes me wonder how you handle the previous sims' routine of setting keyframe 100 as fully-extended but not compressed, 101 as resting on the ground (slightly compressed), and 200 for fully compressed? I'm having trouble with my retractable...

    Texturing

    Thank you, WTFlorian!

    Texturing

I like the sound of that, since I own Substance Painter. But I'm still a newbie at this stuff. My question is, how much needs to be done in Blender before exporting to FBX? I've got an object UV unwrapped. Now, do I bake that in Blender, save that image, and then bring both the FBX and that...

MSFS Offering 1-on-1 courses in MSFS development

If you do it dummies like me will salute you!

MSFS Offering 1-on-1 courses in MSFS development

Yeah. If I could make a simple cube in Blender, pretend it's an aircraft, apply the simplest PBR material/texture to it, and then successfully get it into the sim using the Blender toolkit I'd be off to the races. Most of that comes down to what text to place in the various fields, both within...

MSFS Offering 1-on-1 courses in MSFS development

Maybe he has been inundated with responses and is scratching his head trying to figure out how the hell he's going to handle the hundreds of people who have responded?

    MSFS Wrong polygons appearance

I thought I read a post where someone said MSFS "likes triangles". Now, not being any kind of expert, I'm not sure that applies in your situation.

MSFS The Basics of creating an aircraft for MSFS 2020

Thanks for those additional details for step #5, EggMan28. I'm going to give it a try right now. :)

MSFS The Basics of creating an aircraft for MSFS 2020

Hey, EggMan28, I've been hoping someone would do what you did--list the steps that worked for you in fairly simple terms. Thanks for that. What still throws me is how to complete the various fields in Dev mode in the sim. Mainly, the input and output field(s), and how they relate to the...

    Krispy1001's Jodel project..

Thanks. Yeah, I noticed that yesterday, but then, when you click on the download link it goes to his out-of-action webpage. So the project is not stored on FSDeveloper's servers. I'm hoping his file will shed some light on the problem I'm having with getting VC gauge lighting to work, as...
