• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    MSFS20 Autopilot PID Values

Not a problem... I'm still finding my way through how the new system works for MSFS, much prefer it so far over the old cfg and air file combo. :)

    MSFS20 Autopilot PID Values

PID values are found under the [STICK_AND_RUDDER] section of the ai.cfg file. That controls how the AP responds.

P3D v4 Capturing a source airport from a DirectTo function

Thanks Karol, Bob... :) I've used both your resources as part of this process. I'll check it later today and see if I can make some magic happen. :) Changing the process to a Flightplan is what I'm after. The aim is that the user can have the ability to create a two point (DEP and DEST)...

P3D v4 Capturing a source airport from a DirectTo function

Hi guys, I've been fiddling with a FMS utility (the pandoras box of XML it seems), and have run into some trouble. When I use a Direct To function, it appears that when no flightplan is loaded, the sim creates a destination as specified by me, and an origin to the lat lon coords of my...

P3D v4 Purple artifacts when converting PSD to DDS - help, please!

Hey there Mike, I figured I'd reach out because we were discussing this the other week and looking at the images, it makes me wonder, what DDS format are you using? If you're using DXT1 or 5, have you tried 32 bit to see if the issue remains? I agree with Arno, I've also seen something...

    Sim Director

Just for some context, I think it's only fair to disclose that I actually work for Lockheed Martin here in Australia, specifically as a Prepar3D courseware developer making SimDirector content as part of air force pilot training. As such, whilst I have a fair bit of experience within...

    Sim Director

Hi Larry, To adjust your position and scenario settings on initial load, follow the below actions; 1. Click 'File' on the top left. 2. Click 'Scenario' from the right hand window. This area allows you to set up your initial conditions, such as vehicle, location, date and time, weather and...

    Sim Director

Hi Larry, You shouldn't need to load the same scenario. I copied my BGL into a Prepar3D v4\addon scenery\test\scenery\ folder and made sure to add it to my scenery library. Then I loaded the default P3D scenario and moved the aircraft to edwards where I had placed my objects and they appeared...

    Sim Director

Okay, the following is a simple exercise, but the fundamentals should be valid. ;) To create a BGL file from an SimDirector scene, try the following; 1. Open SimDirector from the P3D menu or desktop shortcut (if you have one). 2. When the scene is loaded, you can add scenery objects into the...
