• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

is there a chance of putting in a viewing area for watching airport life from maybe the control tower, or is this impossible

I don't understand this, malc.
Do you mean tower view? It is the thing that has to be set up in every airport by default already.

what i mean is, to be able to view from the tower and able to look around and maybe zoom in and out. at the moment the tower is a fixed view on the aircraft that your flying

I see!
I normally slew a small aircraft and sit there in the tower.
I think this is the only way to look around.
The tower view you cannot rotate just look at the user aircraft only.

I'm sorry something comes up with more priority.
I have problems with the lines. I need to make all of the line AGAIN! since they do not match the photoscenery. All the lines in VTBS are almost 100,000 polygons in my last project. You can imagine how the situation it would be :(

I seem to remember there is a way to do this.
It might be worth searching online, but as I recall, it involves selecting multiplayer then saving. Exit multiplayer go into free flight and reload.

It is pretty simple. Just follow the illustrated steps (see below) and you will have your viewing platform. Unfortunately I bought the German version but I' m sure you will understand anyhow.

At some airports the tower view is lower than it should be but you can easily adjust that with ADE.

And probably one additional adjustment:

vc_view_back_01 (also TWR).jpg

After looking around from the TWR (but also in the VC) this flips back your view to straight forward (default view).

Yes, I have seen that.
It is really awesome. I'll try my best but might not be the level of Fly Tampa. They are professional and they have team to do things. I'm one-man-show kind of guy:D.

Hi Tic, sorry for hi-jacking your thread for the TWR-view issue. But as you can see, such a question unveils under cover fans of your work :) !

@ Malc. Did you spot the corresponding commands in your settings menu? You need a stick with programmable buttons and a hat switch of course!

Hi,
After make up my mind and restart making all lines again, I found that it is much controllable than correct the old one. Snapping and making arch is the tool that I use to accomplish this task. A few weeks passed by and I got these screen shots. All the edges, runways, taxiways, lines and signs have been newly made. Moreover, satellite image is use to shade and highlight the asphalt to make it looks close to the real airport as much as possible. AFCAD need to be done to relocate the signs. The concrete apron is the default one but overlay with satellite photo. I think it is not a bad one. Default concrete looks good enough though.

I have to do all the lines again since photoscenery and the previous version lines are not match. I think the plane of reference in Gmax is the most important to do it precisely to eliminate the headache.
All the lines are done now.

Adding more detail on the roads inside the apron. Last version I do the lines of roads separately. Now I make it whole new way to consume less polygons and drawcall.

Shadow of the airport will be texture like the way FlyTampa does with their scenery. I've got 17+ with full of AI's now on my 3 years old system, Core Quad Q8200 2.33 Ghz 2GB ram.
