• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

The next SceneryDesign.org LiveMeeting will be held at:

15 september 2006 21:00 CEST (19:00 GMT)

The subject of this second meeting will be:

The use of XML techniques for 3D object design

The following list gives you an idea of the kind of topics that will be discussed:
  • How to place a 3D object into FS with the XML code.
  • How to create an object library with the XML code.
  • Why would you want to use an object library in the first place?
  • Discussion on some tools to help you generate the XML code (for example Library Creator XML and ObPlacer XML).

We will assume that people attending this meeting have a basic knowledge of GMax or FSDS3. So you should now how to create a MDL scenery object with these programs. It would also be nice if you have installed BGLComp and got it working.

Hope to see you all on the 15th. Prior to the meeting we will release additional information, like the URL you need to attend the meeting. So stay tuned.

Hi Arno,

wish you much success with the second edition. I enjoyed the first one but will be on holidays this time.
Try to join next time again.

Joerg

Looking foreward to it. :)

I think this is going to be a real institution for designers. :D

Hi Arno,
sorry to hear that. I'm from 11. Sep to 22. Sep on a therapy with my son, and so i can't see the second meeting again.

Is it possible, you can record this event and make videofile for any user, they have no time? I hope so.

We'll try, but last time it did not really work. The LiveMeeting software makes a recording, but it seems to be in a special own format. And also the video/screen capture part of it did not look very good. But we'll see if we can do better this time.

Don't forget that tomorrow will be the next LiveMeeting. As soon as I have the URL you need to join the meeting, I will post it here in this thread.

Please follow this link to join the LiveMeeting. You will have to provide your name and email address on the login screen. I will be around from about 30 minutes before the start of the meeting to help with questions and problems.

If you want to be able to talk to others during the meeting as well, you need to call the number listed for your country in this post. The code you need to enter after that to join this meeting is 554037700. Hopefully using this method of communication works better than during the previous meeting. I will try to be available on voice around 5 minutes before the start of the meeting.

Hope to see many of you there!

Due to problems with the telephone voice, we are now using Skype for the voice. If you want to join contact me.

First of all I would like to say sorry to everybody about the trouble with had when starting this meeting. Nobody except me was able to talk (via the telephone), so that made it nearly impossible to have some interaction with the users.

That is why in the end we moved with a smaller group of four people onto Skype to do the talking. And I think we still had an interesting session, with some good discussions. And although the group was not that big, I think it was still very useful and fun.

It is clear now that for the next session we will have to think about this communication properly. I am thinking along the directions of using TeamSpeak or so. But we will try to find a solution for that before the next session.

If there are any suggestions or other feedback, please post them in this forum.
