• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Seasonal Preview

I finished the seasonal ground textures, and tweaked the autogen. Anything not in the autogen already will be a custom object.

Thanks for looking.

Runway teaser!

I have been working on perfecting the runway, and I am finally ending up with the results I wanted. Only problem is, it makes the other tarmac look like dirt. I would like to do all the concrete/asphalt as ground polys with this amount of detail, but it's going to add some time to development. Not to mention getting the night lighting right on them.

A few more details and I will add pics of the entire runway.

You said you placed each tree individually. How do you do this with the autogen annotator?

Runway complete!

The real runway is fairly new concrete and has not been seal coated yet. I think this would have been a whole lot easier if it had been asphalt, as the dark color hides a lot of imperfections. As it is, I am very pleased with the result. Especially for my first try with ground polys. If you want a reference for the cracking, check Google earth or Bing (the larger cracks are all there, exactly where they should be in the sim ;)) .It certainly makes for some detailed landings! Hope you like.

Great job, especially for your first ground poly! Would you mind telling how to make that nice dirt layer? Keep up the good work!

I just realized that all of my previous pictures were taken with the textures limited to 1024. I'll have to post them with the TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD tweaked. It looks much better...the way it was intended. ;)

2048 textures - WARNING large download

Just a quick update. I finally got the TML editor working and have the full texture resolution showing in the sim. Really makes things "Pop"!

I finished all the grunge and dirt layers on the main runway and taxiway today. Now I move on to the aprons and hangar areas.

Today is the first day in a long time I have had to work on this, and my schedule is getting busier. Slow going, but the results are worth it.

Another quick teaser pic.

JGplanes was last on this website in September 2013, I doubt he will bring this project back to life, let alone read this post.
I read it, but apparently 5 years too late... Sorry, you'll all probably never see 2R2 in the simulator, but I had to make life choices for my family and myself. Just wanted to say thank you for the kind comments and support.
