• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

A simple and stupid question....

Jon:

Sorry for this question....

Just today I have discovered that SDE does not get the VOR of the airports.
This is correct? The VOR information is in other file same FS2004...? Why?

Moan to ask something that already was perhaps responded of another way, but I did not find that answer...

Best Regards

carlos

Jon:

I request excuses to all for my very poor english.

A single airport is made up of many different bgl's in different folders.

When you load a airport, FS9/FSX pulls different parts into visual or non-visual view from many files.

SDE at present is working mostly with the APXnnnnn.bgl and not all the other folders so you may not see certain NAVAIDS yet.

You can read the following post that helps explain what parts of a airport are in what folders.

Look for rfields5421 post number #6 for the answers.

Jon is planning a scanning program that will look for all NAVAIDS (folders) in a furure release of SDE/ADE

Sorry Carlos

Just saw this post - must have missed it earlier. Jim is correct. Some navaids are included in the AP File (primarily ILS and Terminal Ndbs) Anything that is included in the Airport Record will be found and displayed. However most navaids are in a different file and even though some are close or on airports SDE will not find them. SDE can open and read any Bgl file including those for Navaids, however there is no spatial link to airports.

As Jim says a future version of the engine will allow for the scanning of navaids so that they can be placed in ADE etc.
