Acceleration Pack SDK1a / Vista Compile Problems

I have FSX Planner R26b on a Vista 32 system which has been updated to the new MS Acceleration Expansion Pack (SP2) and
what is a new version of the SDK.

When I try to compile I get parsing and location errors.

///////////////////
INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C1003: Failed to create MSXML object! (0x80040154)

Parsing document: Moonshiners Bay WAMB.xml

INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2430: Unrecoverable error parsing XML!
INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2006: Parse failed (0x80004005)
INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2003: Failed to process file: Moonshiners Bay WAMB.xml
Can't copy BGL file into the destination folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\BGL Compiler SDK\Moonshiners Bay WAMB.BGL (The system cannot find the file specified)
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////

This does not happen on another system running XP and FSX SP1.

I tried copying the older SDK to the vista system on another drive and referred to that for compiling but the error was the same.

I also verified that the destination folders have full access by "everyone".

FSX Planner is running in "Run as Administrator"" mode.

Oops, Sorry, I did install the newer SDK from the Acceleration DVD.

Thanks for the links to the errors. I shall read carefully.

I checked my system and MSXML4 SP2 for Vista is installed and apparently up to date so I do not understand the MSXML error at the beginning of the compile.

I continue to use my XP system for compiling the bgl's. Maybe that is simply what I have to do. :confused:

I haven't tried compiling on Vista with the Acceleration SDK yet. Hopefully I'll have time to look into it soon, and see if there is an issue with FSX Planner, or if it lies elsewhere.

Thanks for the heads up though!

Hi Folks

Canuck
SDK SP1a is not compatible with Acceleration,
you need to install SDK SP2.

Please see - FS Developer - Wiki - SDK Installation (FSX)

As for your error,
please see - FS Developer - Wiki - BglComp Errors

Thanks for the info Paul - It might have been beter though it these instructions were actually mentions in the installation booklet!!

Also, have you noticed that the html help files are missing from the Accelleration SDK. I'm glad I have a non-statndard, second old SDK loaded which still has the html file in it. Is this an intentional bug or will it be fixed. Another M$ feature no doubt!!
