• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

I Use the following programs and tools
FS9/FS2004
GMAX
Blender
Sketchup
LWMViewer
ADE 1.5
AFCAD 2.21
Sbuilder9
Rwy12
Modelconverter X
BGL Decomp
FS2004 SDK

Ok, I have created a structure in Sketchup. A tower to be exact. I need to add 4 anti-collision lights to the comm antanae. How do I do this?
These antanae are situated about 60 ft apart, 130ft above ground, and need a rotating radar (DASR, ASR, and SSR types rotate) on top situated between the antanae. Sbuilder can do that part though. I have searched this forum for 4 days and cant find what im looking for as lights go.

What other programs do you suggest to aid in my ventures?
Last time I did this kind of stuff was for FS98 back in 1999. AFW was the 'in' thing back then.

Current major project= KTPA photo-restructure of entire field with custom build structures and approaches.

Current minor project= KVDF, KTPF, KZPH, KPIE, other Tampa tracon C D E G fields

Hi,

Since you are using SketchUp I would suggest that you add the lights in ModelConverterX when you convert the object to MDL. In the Attached Object Editor you can add effects and lights for example (the lights are converted to effect automatically when exporting).
