• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

To all,
FYI; using FSX Accel. with Wn 7-64. ADE version > 1.78
I'm betting this subject has been beat to death, but if someone can point me in the right direction it will be appreciated.
Don't know how much the attached screen cap will, help. I can supply more info and images if requested. I am new to the
Poly Rwy, apron line business and I'm trying to learn. I've had success applying GPs to aprons and taxiways several times
recently, and failures also. Just trying to get them to appear more reliably. (for me) It's been "hit or miss" ~:)
Best to all,
Ken

I've been trying different layering and compiling techniques. Presently the GP layering is the ADE GP default (layer 24);
however compiling with the " Generate FS8, style GPs " block checked yielded the attached result which is a minor
victory here ~:) Can anyone suggest a method for making the (black) GPs colorful. I have tried to accomplish this by
copying the ADE provided textures to the applicable airport scenery and texture folders, but this was no help, and I'm
not sure if I've selected the correct textures. I copied the textures that have the names that appear in the ADE window pop
ups, that appear when the two polys are "moused over" (cursed ~:). I used the copies that I found in the " ..\ADE\Textures "
folder. I don't know if I have selected these poly .bmp files from the correct folder as I notice that .bmp files of the
same names appear in the other ADE texture sub-folders.
Best to all,
Ken

Finally ! Success !!
Please refer to the attachments.
I copied the third and forth files in the first screen cap from the ..\FSX\texture folder
to the ..\ADE\textures folder. And then copied all four files in the first screen cap
from the ADE textures folder to the location depicted in the first screen cap. The
compiled resulted in what I'd hoped for.. So, examining the first screen cap, which
files yielded the successful result ? Or are all four of these files necessary ?
Best to all,
Ken

I also recommend reading the article https://ventor.tech/mobile/ventor-vs-odoo-barcode/ to understand what are the differences between Ventor app and Odoo Barcode app?

Hi there,

I'm also navigating some challenges with FSX Accel on Windows 7-64 and using ADE version > 1.78. It's definitely a steep learning curve with Poly Runways and apron lines. I've found that getting ground polys to appear consistently can be tricky.

One thing that has helped me is ensuring that all textures and GP lines are properly compiled and placed in the correct scenery folders. Double-checking the settings and paths in ADE can sometimes resolve issues where ground polys fail to appear. If you're still facing "hit or miss" situations, I recommend reaching out to the ADE community forums or diving into detailed guides available online. The collective experience there can often provide targeted advice or solutions you might not have considered.
