• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Update via the online updater.

This build focusses on taxi links and gates and is intended to allow testing of those functions.

The taxi link function is extended to provide two additional defaults when drawing links. These boxes are found to the right of the taxi name box. The first allows selection of the surface to be used when drawing links and the second defines the width in meters to be used. Changing the selection for name, surface or width while in a link drawing mode should be effective for the next link drawn.

There is now a mode for drawing gates (you can still add one via the right click menu). The gate mode button is below the pointer button with the letter 'G'. Next to it is a selector for the type of gate to draw. Select gate mode and then you will get a Gate placement cursor. Left click to place a gate. Changing the Gate type while in gate mode should be effective for the next gate placed. Gates have a default radius for each type. This is based on the discussions on gate radius values on FSDeveloper.com. The defaults are user settable via the options menu (see below).

There is a new options dialog reached via Settings --> Options. Note this is in development so the general and units tabs do nothing.

Setting folders for BglComp and FS are now moved to the Folders Tab.

The Parking Tab allows you to set default radius values for each type that will be remembered.

There is now an exit option on the file menu.

Error when opening option

Hi Jon,

Receive an excepion when opening the options... The window does not show up.

2 other things, is the delete function supposed to work for the gate, and taxiways? And when I move the ILS and save and reload, it show up at the original location.

Cout (Martin Couture)

Once again Thank you Jon:)
Here's a question,
Would it be possible to be able to add a dashed centre line to the vehicle path, as I'm widening and adding a centre line to the vehicle paths at some of the larger airports and i would love to be able to make this Dashed

Ray

I also found the same as Martin, with this error (ADE cannot Handle) Jon

Sorry Guys - left a file out of the updater package. Please use the updater again and get 0.34 - this contains the missing FlatTabControl.dll - apologies for the inconvenience :o

Hi Martin and welcome :)

Yes delete works for parking gates and taxipaths. Make sure that the name of the items is visible for the item to be deleted, right click on it and select delete.

ILS are not properly implemented yet so the behavior may be unpredictable

Once again Thank you Jon:)

Exclusion retangle

Hi, Jon

Thanks for the good and fast progress with ADE.

Only to remember: I'm seeing my exclusion retangle out of place, yet.

Nice weekend,

José

Ray

So it shows In the Sim Jon,
as there is a centre line box you can tick for Taxiways and vehicle paths, although it cannot be changed to dashed only with or without a solid centre line,
just wondered if it would be possible to be able to change from line to dashed only for the vehicle path or have this option

Ray

Yes you are correct GHD :)
its always been this way,
but would be nice if its possible to be able to change this in ADE
at least with the vehicle paths :)
just love to load Jon up with work ;)

Ray

That would only work if FSX honors the request to draw the line as dashed
