• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 Again with flatting Issue

I'm working on LLBG new scenery. and I have the flatting issue again since P3Dv4 out

in P3Dv3 I could solve it by compiling in MCX like FSX and it's work

this is a real strange problem I did all "By the book"

1. flatten with the last ADE1.75 "flatten mask map.." I try all option available

2. Sbuilder AB flatten_maskclassmap (OK I didn't change in fsx settings to P3Dv4 sdk)

3. mcx build big polly and export as "FSX flatten bgl"

all this options with the correct altitude 41.148 in this case and all ZBIAS value are negative (-19 -21..)

and now for the strange i make a scenery some place else with same poly\texture and NO flickering all

is OK

B.T.W. all model is from the old scenery I can't going on until solving this issue :banghead:

I experienced the same issue with P3DV3 and the conclusion I reached from reading several threads was that a V3 update would fix that issue. I was able to mitigate it with ADEx by offsetting the ground poly, but I did not like the "sunken" wheels effect. I eventually went back to normal ADEX ground polys with no FS Material Settings, which still work great in P3DV3, that is if you can live without wet or shiny effects on the ground. Personally I have never flown to an airport where an asphalt or concrete runway make any reflection at all. Modern day concrete is designed to absorb water, and is dull as it can be.

You Absolutely right about the rain effect I can skip it if this is the only choice, but in my previous scenery Milan Malpensa I didn't "suffer" from this problem in P3Dv3!

but if some flatting problem can't be solved in a new version in some area's it very frustrating. as for now I fix it but the way that it should in this new version and SDK

I compile it as FSX positive values and skip the couples 4,8,12... numbers and did singles 1.5.9.. etc it work but I don't pleased with that. so I'll keep waiting for some help or solution

Sorry Test it with P3dv4 sdk. no go I'll go on with the old way it work but I going to loose some..
