• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.

Am trying to use AgenT15 to add autogen houses and trees to photoscenery. I can use Agent15 to add the houses and tree outlines to the .bmp texture files just fine, but the corresponding autogen doesn't show up in the game. Does anyone know what you do in this program after you modify the .bmp files in AgenT? Or can anyone tell me where to find a tutorial for this program--something more helpful than the little promotional video I found online?

Hi,

I would suspect that the tool generates the required AGN file for you when you are placing the autogen on the BMP files. Make sure they are in the correct texture folder and then they should how.

And of course be sure that the textures you are adding the autogen to are from a photo scenery, you can't just add autogen to any texture.

Autogen doesn't show

The photoscenery was generated by Maps2Bgl and displays correctly in the game. A .agn file for the appropriate tile is generated by AgenT15 and it has the trees and buildings on it. However nothing shows up in the game. Interesting enough, Trees I plant with TreePlanter or with Abacus Ez-scenery do not show up on the photo scenery either, yet they work just fine on the default scenery. I also tried two other programs for inserting Autogen (Martins "Autogen.exe" and Microsofts SDK Autogen)- both generated .agn files but neither of them showed up in the game). I also tried changing the priority of this scenery in the game "Settings" by moving "Addon Scenery" above this scenery in the list. Nothing works. It seem like this photoscenery is hogging top priority and will not let anything supercede it. Wow!

Sounds like there is an exclude active in your area, that removes the autogen again. Try to see if any addon you have loaded has an exclude in it.

Roy,

Have you placed the agn files in the texture folder at the same level in the tree as your bmp files? ie. if your bmp files are in xyz\scenery, are the agn files in xyz\texture?

Roy!
The AgenT Tutorial is a PDF-File "UKVFR_Libs_Handbook11.pdf". It is part of the documentation of the "VFR Addons Database".
Download from:
http://www.vfraddons.co.uk/ukautogen_view.php

Then look in:
....\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\UKVFR Library\Documentation.

If you can't get it any more, give me your e-mail Adress and I send you the PDF-File.

Documentation

All good advice, guys! Found documentation as suggested and am checking for excludes that might cover this area. Thanks, will get back to you.

AgenT Library Regions

Ok! I'm in business and AgenT is working. Just one tiny problem. When I check the "default.xml" file using Notepad, I notice that several "Regions" A,B,C,D,E, etc. are represnted. But in AgenT only the object classes for one of these regions is accessible. How do I get access to all the objects from the other Regions in the "default.xml" file?
