• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P-12C, How do you reset missions to "never flown"

P-12C,

Everything is about creating missions which is fine. Once we have completed a mission and we get the reward, how can we reset the mission back to the original conditions ? What files need to be deleted or what needs to be done ? Can it be done ?

I don't know any mission action that can do that.
You can delete the file where all user rewards are saved: Application Data\<User>\Microsoft\FSX\GrantedRewards.bin, but it will delete all rewards, including "1000 hours" medals and similar. :(
Unfortunately I didn't manage to decode the format of this file to edit individual content.

Hi Folks

LOL

That's a question that's been bothering me for a while,
though as my Beta release draws nearer,
I'm reluctant to activate my rewards
as I'm wondering the same thing.

Have you tried overwriting with different data,
but using the same GUID ?

Any results of above would be appreciated.

Must find way to reset missions in FSX !!!!

Ok, we just can't give up on this one. Someone has got to find a way to reset missions flown to 0 removing the rewards, etc.

Everyone that has developed a mission will play it thru to the end and then it gets locked in. I'll keep asking for an answer. We all need this !!!!

I have found the answer.....

Under Application Data/Microsoft/FSX directory there are two files called--

GrantedRewards and GrantedRewardsOld

Make a backup directory under this FSX directory and move the GrantedRewards and GrantedRewardsOld files to this backup directory.

This will remove all mission rewards. It will not remove the general FSX logging of takeoffs, landings, etc. But this is ok.

You can test your missions over and over this way and then afterwords you can put back these files and they will restore your rewards....

I think one post about this would be enough. ;)

Didn't we have this discussion before? No? Hmm...

The solution for resetting the mission to "incomplete" is indeed to change the GUID of the Metadata-Entry in the mission-xml.

Horst,

That's the first time someone has answered the question. If it was answered it must have been in another post...

Thanks

I guess it must have been another forum... :o

This is something for the Wiki anyway. :)

Yes you can if the mission is in format xml just change the guy number in the metadata and your mission will be renitialised !:)

Did you actually look at the date of this topic? (not regarding the answers that were also given 4 years ago)
