• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Airline and Parking Codes

I guess I should start again. I keep saying Airport Codes when I mean Airline and Parking Codes which don't show up in build 27 which I've just installed. My OS is Vista Ultimate. Also I've just noticed that the "check for updates" produces unable to connect to server.

I'm not sure why you can't connect to the server for the updates. Port 8080 is used for that. Perhaps it is being blocked on your system?

If you can't connect to the server you can't download the AirlineCodes.xml file

In anycase, download the attached zip file, expand it and place the AirlineCodes.xml file in the following folder:

\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\zBlueSoftware\FSXPlanner\

The above folder is located in your user folder. You may need to have hidden folders shown to see them. You may also need to create the zBlueSoftware and FSX Planner subfolders.

Vista Update Problem

Hi,
I too have Vista Ultimate and use MS One Care.

I have never been able to use the update feature in FSX Planner. :scratchch

The Error Message is always the same:
fsxplannere1.jpg

I run FSX Planner as Administrator.

I have allowed port 8080 in and out. No update connection.

I turn off both firewall and Anti-Virus. No update connection.

Any suggestions?

I really don't know why the update feature would not work for some people. I've successfully tested it on XP and Vista without any problems.

For now the only thing I can say is that if you need the updates, download the above zip fiel and also redownload then entire application.

Hopefully one day we'll figure out the issue, or maybe it can be made to work on port 80 instead of 8080.

Thanks for the reply.

I did download the airport code zip file and continue to download the app updates manually.

Also I continue to have to use a remote system (XP) for bgl compile.

This may not be of any immediate importance. but I also have SBuilder X and the compile program that it uses works perfectly on the Vista system.

I'm glad you've got the updates!

What do you mean by 'you have to use a remote system for bgl compile'?

Sorry,
I should have been more specific in terms of where I compile the bgl.

I have FSX & SDK SP1 on an XP System that I use for testing.
I installed FSX Planner there too.

I build the aitport files on the Vista system and copy the xml to the XP system for final compilation and then copy the bgl back to the Vista FSX.
