As some of you know I'm doing a series of airports in Central Florida and I check with AirNav for their specifications for the Airport. While AirNav might say that an airport may have a 2 degree Magnetic Varation, and FSX may also say this in the description of the same airport, I get a different reading while on the runway. I have FSX.cfg set to give both and If, for instance I get a 2 degree var. it might say that the Heading is 122 degrees and the Mag heading is 127 degrees. Thats a 5 degree difference and thats enough to drive you crazy trying to get a runway set right. The setting that I have in the FSX.cfg is:
{TextInfo.1}
Latitude=1,1
Longitude=1,2
Altitude=1,3
Heading=1,4
HeadingTrue=1,5
AirSpeed=1,6
WindDirectionAndSpeed=1,7
{TextInfo.2}
FrameRate=1,1
LockedFrameRate=1,2
GForce=1,3
FuelPercentage=1,4
{TextInfo.3}
Latitude=1,1
Longitude=1,2
Altitude=1,3
Heading=1,4
HeadingTrue=1,5
AirSpeed=1,6
WindDirectionAndSpeed=1,7
FrameRate=2,1
LockedFrameRate=2,2
GForce=2,3
FuelPercentage=2,4
{SlewTextInfo.1}
Latitude=1,1
Longitude=1,2
Altitude=1,3
Heading=1,4
HeadingTrue=1,5
AirSpeed=1,6
{SlewTextInfo.2}
FrameRate=1,1
LockedFrameRate=1,2
{SlewTextInfo.3}
Latitude=1,1
Longitude=1,2
Altitude=1,3
Heading=1,4
HeadingTrue=1,5
AirSpeed=1,6
FrameRate=2,1
LockedFrameRate=2,2
Substitute the square brackets for the curley ones.
Also... I don't know if this will happen to you but I worked for 2 days on an airport with ADE and I found out the last bgl was dated 4 days ago. ADE was not saving to the Addon Scenery\scenery folder while FSX was running. Please check the dates and time after you "save airport" as it may not be saving. I found I had that folder set as Required=True in the scenery.cfg and that may have been the reason it didn't overwrite the old one while FSX was running.
I hope I have saved some grief for someone trying to learn this new scenery method.
