• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

MSFS Any way to get rid of a too wide stream?

I am working on a small grass airstrip in southern Finland (EFTO, Torbacka). Next to the strip is a narrow brook. In MSFS2020 all streams seems to have the same width and they are far too wide in most places. In the image below the width of the water is seen on the right and the real width of the stream on the left. Question 1: Is there any way to get rid of this excessive water or to narrow it down to real proportions? I have tried with various polygon settings and aprons, but the water is always on top of them. Also, under the generic bridge on the top left is a dark, elliptical area (not visible in this image but clearly visible from some angles) that I can not get rid of. It is probably some kind of exclusion to get rid of the road beneath the bridge. Question 2: Any ideas on how to remove that one?

Use polygon to trace the excess area and then in properties set it to Water AND Exclude, you need to maybe switch the water type to same as the stream is. (probably river)

Yes, thank you for pushing me in the correct direction! After some experimenting I realised that you have to make two exlusion zones - one of each side of the brook - to narrow it down. Now it works and looks very much better!
