• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

Apron lights not visible

I have put a string of light on top of an apron and they are not visible in game. Is there any settings I have to change to see them?

Thanks

How long is the string of lights that you created. FSX displays one apron edge light every 200 feet. So it may be that the apron is not large enough to see more than one light?

I have a straight section that is about 650 feet and 3 lights show up and then a curved section that is about 300 feet and no lights. All one string.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Well 3 lights in 650 feet would make sense.

So you have one string that is a total of 950 feet long, with the first 650 feet straight and the last 300 feet curved? With that I would have thought you'd get 4 lights, 3 on the straight, and one midway round the curve.

Thats what I would think.

Would it make a difference if it was a closed or open loop?

Thanks

I made the length of lights longer and around another curved part. The lights are showing up when the verticies are in a straight line and far apart. They aren't showing up on any of the corners where there are many vertices.

Can you close an apron light string. I hold down the shift key and double click to close the string with the first vertice and it works, but when i click on that vertice to move it, it becomes detached. Using the pointer tool and using the apron light tool.

Thanks

I used google earth and measured my string of apron lights and counted 3953 feet and divided by 200 to get 19 and bit.

I only see 11 lights in game.

What if you reduced the number of vertices around your curve??

Maybe FSX calculates it on the length of each line segment as opposed to the length of the line?
Therefore, less vertices, longer line segments, more lights??

Just a thought

Yah had to reinstall XP..........Thanks Microsoft for charging 80 bucks for FSX then have it check to see if it is really yours every 1/2 hour until crash and no repair,,,,,,....../.Nice programing monkeys.
