• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Hi!

I just did a complete rework of Wuhan (ZHHH) adding the new runway and terminal bldgs, etc. The original FSX AFCAD had the correct ATIS as 126.6. After completing my upgrade I discovered that the ATIS would not display when I dialed in the frequency. All other frequencies work at the airport, however. I changed the ATIS to AWOS and it correctly displayed but when I changed it back to ATIS, it wouldn't display. I have it correctly set with ZHHH in the name column. I have tried slewing to different elevations and moving to different positions around the AFCAD but still no joy. I have tried changing the frequency but ATIS just will not display. There are no other copies of the AFCAD (other than the default FSX) that could be interfering and everything else displays and works properly. I am out of ideas! The original airport had 1 runway 4-22 and this spring they opened the second and renamed both runways: 4R-22L, 4L-22R. I can't imagine that changing the runway names would have caused this because I have done similar updates over the years and never had this happen. Can you shed any light on this?

I don't know it just won't activate. I guess you'll have to leave it as an AWOS?
 
You need to delete your ATIS entry.
Import stock data, comms frequencies, and you will see ATIS already exists.

I deleted all the comms in my upgrade and then loaded stock data comms, saved and compiled but still the ATIS will not activate. Never had this issue before in 10 years of FSX!

Tom, can you duplicate this?
Maybe my setup is weird. I did have a Wuhan bgl in my addon scenery but I deleted it prior to this test.

I did the same steps and got what you got, BUT, when I try to access the ATIS (126.6) nothing happens. It won't activate. The problem was never that ATC didn't recognize an ATIS, it was and still is that it will not activate within the scenery. I went back and pulled up the default and it worked perfectly. I then added the new runway and changed the ILS freq to the current ones and still was able to access ATIS as usual. I then added the ground polygon and still was able to access. Somehow adding the rest of the detailed scenery has caused it to not function but it would be a big task to check it out one embellishment at a time! All the other frequencies successfully activate when ATC uses them. I tried deleting and adding a different frequency but still no joy. So, for now, I guess I am resigned to using an AWOS (which works).

Sorry, I misunderstood. I'm the same, no ATIS active.
I loaded my ZHHH back in and everything works.
The only difference I notice is that my ATIS is first on the list, yours is last. I don't know of a way to re-order the list and I don't see why it should matter.
I can't see how adding library objects or taxiways affects comms either.
A puzzler.
 
Same for me, I could tune the ATIS, but no report. Changed to AWOS or using the default, everything is fine. Very odd.
