Background image doesn't show up

Hello,

I'm new to this forum and I thing FSXPlanner is a great tool.

I have a problem with the background image.
I took a screenshot with snagit from google earth and saved it as a JPG with 72dpi. I loaded the image in fsxplanner with the correct coordinates and the image did show up normally, then I compiled it to a bgl file, but when I open the bgl file the background image is vanished.

What could be the problem.

Greetings, Dirk

The background image is not compiled into the BGL file. It is used only within FSX Planner so that you have a guide of where to place parts of the airport.

If you want a background image in FSX, then you need to create various background textures using other tools. I'm not sure which tool is the best for this, but there are several on this forum that allow you to do that.

One other thing I just thought of. Do you mean that you compile the airport to a bgl file, and then decompiled that bgl file again into FSX Planner and that background image wasn't there? If so then that is still related to the fact that background images are not compiled into bgl files. You should save your work as an XML file from FSX Planner and use that as the airport source file. Your background images will be saved into the source XML file, and will be read form the source XML file and displayed in FSX Planner again. You only compile to a bgl file when you are ready to place the airport into FSX.
