• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 BGL compiler and 8.33 KHz

Hi,

Following modification of bvcf.bgl, I noticed that compiler doesn't compile sector frequencies, such as (e.g.)
134.760, 125.615, 133.460, 124.990, etc, but does accept numbers 3 & 8 as second decimal like 133.230,
127.980 and so on. When refused, I get the following message by xml2bgl :
"INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2424: COM FREQUENCY can be 118.000 to 136.992Mhz in 0.0083Mhz steps!"
What I get from this, is a contradiction, as FS accepts the 8.33 step, but it actually rejects them during compilation process.
Has anybody ever managed to correct that ?

The compiler is not perfect in errors that it reports. There are other contradictions that were never explained. The .0083 could be a misprint but the compiler schema file says the Frequency Mhz needs further work on the constraints which I don't think was ever done.

ADE/bgl2xml is coded in .025 increments which appears to be what FS9/FSX is using regardless of some 3 and 8's compiling.

Thanks for your reply Jim.

[but the compiler schema file says the Frequency Mhz needs further work on the constraints]

Further work by whom ? Mean the MSFS team (that doesn't exist any more), or by other third party developers ?
It's a pity anyway that MS "skipped" such important details. Those and others, like you said.

Sotiris.
