• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Biome override at an airport not working

Hello,

I used the Biome Override option for a polygon at one airport and it works, I could force another type of Biome there for a wide area around it.

However for another airport, it does not seem to work no matter what polygon or Biome I choose. I see it in Dev Mode as it should be, but once the scenery is installed, Biome remains like default.

I tried priorities etc. No luck.

If it worked in one are/airport I am wondering why not in this one

After some tests I noticed that at a specific spot on the edge of the Airfield, the biome changes and beyond that spot, we can't override it. I tried Biome override and I tried vegetation polygons as well but neither have any influence on the default.

I will submit a bug ticket about it on Zendesk.

Yes, and nothing happened. I'm in the process of applying the latest update now so maybe that will help.

My biome and regional polygons are working as before the update.
How do you go about setting up a different biome? It is possible I am doing something wrong or missing a step. I draw a polygon around the area I want to change and then set the biome to desired. Before it would just change and now it does nothing.

I'm guessing you are using a polygon to define a region using the default biome choices. That's how you do it. Without an example you make, I couldn't be of any help.

Here too, I tried many things before and after the update but no luck. I submitted a Zendesk ticket as well. Other areas / airports work fine when it comes to changing biome or vegetation type.
