• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Blend mask issue

Hello all,

I have a strange issue creating a blend mask for one of the tiles of my scenery.
Here is a screen :

problem2dl.jpg

As you can see, the blend mask appears in black and red, and is mirrored.
I have 6 big tiles like this one, 5 without any problem and this one....
I've done the masks using this proc :
- Load the original picture in Gimp,
- Make my black and white aeras,
- Convert in greyscale
- Save as a TIF picture.
- Then I modify the INF file, and resample it to create the BGL.

The INF files a quite simple, just the original picture and the blendmask :

[Source]
Type = MultiSource
NumberOfSources = 2

[Source1]
Type = BMP
Layer = Imagery
SourceDir = "."
SourceFile = "L18X265072X265099Y179820Y179839.BMP"
Variation = All
Channel_BlendMask = 2.0
NullValue = 255,255,255
SamplingMethod = Gaussian
ulyMap = 49.1044436666667
ulxMap = 2.01049805555556
xDim = 2.6822064112103E-06
yDim = 1.75615234375009E-06

[Source2]
Type = TIFF
Layer = None
SourceDir = "."
SourceFile = "L18X265072X265099Y179820Y179839_B.tif"
SamplingMethod = Gaussian
ulyMap = 49.1044436666667
ulxMap = 2.01049805555556
xDim = 2.6822064112103E-06
yDim = 1.75615234375009E-06

[Destination]
DestDir = "."
DestBaseFileName = "Photo_BL18_LFPT05"
DestFileType = BGL
LOD = Auto
UseSourceDimensions = 1
CompressionQuality = 85

Everything works well with my 5 other pics (as you can see on the screenshot)....

Anyone got an idea ? :confused:
Thanks

Oh oh... I'm so stupid....:mad:
I found the solution :
1 - The INF I posted in not the good one
2 - In the real one the Xdim and Ydim of the mask part wasn't good due of some copy/paste mistakes

Closed subject !
