• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

Bridges?

Hi Guys,
I am a complete newb on this forum and would like to pick your brains if I may.
I have designed a completely ficticious airport near where I live in the Highlands. I want to place a bridge at a point I know exists in the real world.
Is it possible to have FSX default scenery eg: vehicles, to appear over the bridge I place there? At the moment, the bridge I've placed appears ok but the default scenery dissapears under it instead of travelling over it.
I am using Instant Scenery 2 and I used AFX to design my airport.
All is fine except the bridge problem.
I look forward to your thoughts,
Kindest Regards
Needles

Do you mean something like the attached ?

If you do , what l did was to place with Instant Scenery a hard platform on the bridge deck(or two since it's a long bridge) .

Hi George,
Thanks for your reply. My bridge is a small humped back bridge (1 arch) made of stone. Your bridge looks great but also flat. My bridge isn't flat. Is it possible to do what you suggest over such a bridge?

Regards & thanks
Brian

Hi Brian ,

Although l haven't used a humped bridge before , l would think that it can be done .
Depending on the length and width of the bridge deck , you could use a small hard platform and place 3 or 5 pieces appropriately adjusting the pitch in Instant scenery
accordingly to cover the hump .

Regards
George

Hi George, Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated.
You suggest using flat platforms using the pitch control.
Therin lies the problem.
I'm using FSX and IS2 won't let me use the pitch control.
Still trying.
Thanks again

That's very odd Brian ,

l am using FSX over Win7 64 bit , and good old IS v104 is good enough for me . Good thing l did't update .
l've tried what l suggested over a small humped bridge and works fine .

Use SBuilderX to draw an extrusion bridge, it gives you all the default FSX bridges to choose from. Just draw the line and decide the height
