• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Is there a scruffy fellow hanging around here with all his worldly possessions in a shopping carriage holding a cardboard sign that says; "Will FS Model for Food."
Where do these posters come from?

I knew of one whose signature was "will push polys for food", but he went off and did other things which paid better.

Not necessarily posting from personal experience here, but I am given to understand that some sharing sites, warezing sites in particular, thrive off of requests. It may even be viewed as a mark of prowess how quickly and thoroughly an uploader might provide whatever happens to be fancied, say a new movie or copy of Adobe.
This may also work at sharing sites where the entire work is created by the uploader, but in my experience at sites like Freelancer, the "free" work is driven by an opportunity to secure the offered reward and not requests only.

I suppose it never hurts to ask and maybe if one of us does do it good enough he will indeed purchase it.

Yes, I will gladly pay for work. It would depend on the quality of work. Sorry, I thought this was the place to make a request like this.
"Use this forum when you are trying to recruit people for your project or are looking for somebody to do some work for you"

Sorry for asking.

You are in the right place alright but people would like to have some more information about who you are, what you will do yourself, etc.

No need to apologize for a lack of understanding, it's not a requirement here, but I think a certain level of tact helps smooth the rough edges. Anyway, you are about 12 hours into a request you posed with one sentence and a succinct one at that. Were you expecting a quote? I can say that for me to create anything of that magnitude, with a level of quality I would be comfortable selling, would take many hours. Maybe some guys are better, but, I doubt anyone could say, "Oh..medium sized international airport with main and crosswind runway, $XX.xx." Overall, it is more like selling an automobile than it is like selling a model airplane kit. So you might want to understand if some of us seem overly incredulous, we actually aren't.

I'd say, if you are sincere, express it. You might even want to get involved apart from bankrolling it, it's fun and not that hard, especially for local pertinent imagery. Anyway, good luck with it.

Sorry for asking.

You did post in the most sensible place for a request.

So since you're willing to pay, here's a rough estimation of the required investment:

1. Airport layout update (ADEX file), using default buildings or similar: Probably around $50.
or
2. Full fledged airport scenery, with custom ground poly, buildings, textures, approaches, layout, etc...: Probably around $1000, but expect (much) more.

Making airports, expecially highly detailed ones, is not easily done in a day or two but requires months (or even years) of work. Even a mere ADEX file takes a few hours. Hence the pricing.

What do you mean?
I mean that he wanted a solution with an investment of 10 words. No time wasted in introductions or anything. Basically push the button and there you go. I realize it is a matter of communication and I am paraphrasing, but you see my perspective. Then there is you video, the whole thing from start to finish, basically a turn key solution - and it shows how deeply involving and time consuming (at regular speed) that the actual process really is. I could not ask or pay you to make such a demonstration, so therefore it is priceless.

yes, and it was only the blender file preparation, Im sick so not able to work on scenery.
To give an idea, our Tarkio scenery is WIP for about 3 months now, and there still a lot of issues reported by our testers

I'd like to make this airport. But there's a large issue of time, or lack of. Maybe I'll do it after the three I already have planned which will take me over a year.

I think leadingedge already donated his two post's worth to the project, or are you not trying to get recruited..
