MSFS Can certain parts of the texture be transparent?

Hi guys,

I've got a texture for my building with certain parts of it transparent, blend mode is set in 3dsmax. However the whole texture seems to have the transparency applied?

Any help will be appreciated!

If you are using a PNG texture then any part of the PNG that is transparent will be transparent. Are you doing a mask or blend transparency? Mask is a hard on/off while blend is more used for semi transparent.

It would be easier to diagnose if you gave your current material settings.

Please refer to my first post, "blend mode is set in 3dsmax". So basically, I have my png and I set the desired part of the textures opacity in photoshop to slightly transparent, about 80%.

However when I export it, the whole texture is semi transparent instead of just the specified side.

yeah. I don't know what you're doing there. I suspect there is something wrong with your texture.

Here is a simple cube I made in Blender. Simple material, MSFS standard, loaded albedo texture and changed alpha mode to BLEND. It just works.

Texture is a opaque green border and a few random gray squares where the transparency level has been set with opaque text to show what the levels are. Attached is the PNG texture.
